stop what person had a call from 123-456-7890 with a message saying they were going to lower my credit card costs. (I don't have any)I pressed "1" just to see who they were. have contacted the CRTC

Got the same call as lm posted on the 13 Sep 2007. I blew an airhorn into the phone and hung up! I hope their ears bled :)

These people have called prior and have already called twice today. It's getting to be a pain in the you know what. I wish they would leave me alone.

Sorry, my son got ahold of my cell. He likes to call people. He is still learning to talk, no foreign language. It my son's conspiracy to call everyone and creep them out.

2008 August 6 1:54 pm got a call from 123-456-7890. I picked up phone and hung up without asking who it was.

I received one call last week, claiming they were calling from Directv, offering $1800 in free equipment. I knew they were NOT calling from Directv, and asked the guy on the other end for a number I could call him back at. He gave me a bogus number.Today, they called midday, claiming to be from Dish Network. When I started asking probing questions, he disconnected the call.Sounds like an attempt at ID theft. They're trying to get your personal information and use it.

Two rings, and when I answered, they simply hung up. I thought this was another one of those 10-10 long distance numbers that my friend back east would use! How coincidental that I just installed the Dragon Naturally speaking voice recognition program today......makes one say, "Hmmm."

It doesn't matter if you're registered. I just called the DNCL hotline to report the # (as I am registered on the list and have been since it was available) and I was told this:They use the 123 # because it's encrypted and untraceable. It is not just one 'scammer' using the #, it's several (again because it's untraceable). Therefore there is nothing the DNCL can do to block this # unless the people calling give you enough information that, when reported to the DNCL hotline, it provides enough info for them to trace where the # is coming from. I was told they get calls about this # everyday. I was told it would be best not to pick up the phone, but if you do, get as much info from them (not the other way around) about the company, and call the DNCL so it can be investigated. Otherwise, another option would be to call PhoneBusters and report the # there.

I'm in Ontario, my bell messaging picked up a message from 123-456-7890it said.......to lower your interest rates....press 1, to stop receiving these calls press 3 (can't do this in my message) I won't bother to answer it when I see it on call display....
