Just to inform everyone, my refund arrived today in my cc account. So Stephen honored his word with me.As I stipulated before, I intend to visit these guys when I'm in the states next just to see for my self. If this is the real deal, I will gladly take up multiple offers.
Maybe I am losing my mind or my command of the English language, but it was implied that we "won" a holiday. If a person "wins" something, the implication is that the prize is free. So call it what you will. It is still deceptive telemarketing, commonly know as a "scam" or a "rip-off". Now go sit on your high horse as much as you wish.
Why don't you get the facts straight aljemac before you start assuming crap. Nobody tells you you won anything...legally we're not allowed too! In the years I have been working in this business, in nobody's script does it say the word WON...because then THAT would be misleading! Go ahead and assume whatever you want , think whatever you want when you get those phone calls! You're just mad because you probably too bought a vacation and a. never used it; b. felt ashamed that you spent X amount on a vacation that you may never use and tried to cancel; c. felt like an idiot because you actually thought you won a free holiday when in fact you're just hearing those voices in your head trying to convince you that you did hear the word free or won; d. all of the above.I like my high horse, thank you very much! Cheers!
hey all, I too was foolish enough to be sucked in by this disgusting company. Within minutes of hanging up, I Googled Tropical Grand Vacations (why I didn't think to do that during the call, who knows?!), realised I'd been taken for a ride, and so emailed the company demanding refund. Despite the fact they scream the word "WON" at you multiple times during the phone call, as per the conditions you agree to with these guys, you ARE entitled to a refund within 30 days. I suggest you email them asap & demand a refund. Alert your bank & advise the company you have done this. If they refuse to refund, advise you'll escalate it to a police matter (and do it). I'm thankful my payment was voided. I was persistent in demanding this - you must be persistent. Whether or not this company is a 'scam' or merely just very good at wheedling money out of people by claiming you've "purchased" something, despite being told a number of times by three hyper Americans that you've "WON!", who knows. Anyone who has had charges made to their credit card but is yet to receive any info, BE PERSISTENT. Report them & TELL THEM they've been reported. Good luck.
THe first words that the TGV people said was "Congratulations, you've won..." and that is the end of the matter.I don't need telemarketers making deceptive offers. I am on the DNCR now. I admit I made a mistake. It's taken over 4 months for that to be rectified. When I take a holiday,I make my own arrangements.Drug dealers, pimps and mobsters all have to make a living. The only issue I have with telemarketers is that some are unethical & dishonest in their spiel to get people in. Think whatever you wish, alias. Cheers!!!
STEPHEN, EXCUSE ME I HAVE CONTACTED YOU NUMEROUS TIMES BY EMAIL (AS YOU CANNOT ACTUALLY TALK TO AN ANSWERING MACHINE)AND HAVE HAD NOT 1 REPLY TO MY REQUEST FOR A REFUND WHICH IS DUE TO ME AS I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY PACKAGE AND ITS BEEN 5 WEEKS SINCE I PURCHASED IT. IF YOU COULD REFUND THIS WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ARE HONEST AS OBLIGING AS YOU STATE.
I truly doubt that! There goes the little voices in your head again playing mind tricks on you!
I also was scammed on May 11th and have received nothing. I have reported Mr Stephen Rice and Calypso Cay to the police, ACCC, bank, Florida DOACS, USA FBI, newspapers a Current Affair and I advise you and everyone to make as many complaints as you can and alert everyone to their scheme of sell a holiday take your money and run.
I really do not give a flying ---- what you think! I believe Gov.Palin should declare open season on telemarketers, mate. Especially you!!!Va a l'inferno e bacia le mie natiche!!!Did the "little voices in my head" tell me to insult in a language you more than likely do not comprehend?Youbetcha!!! Anyway, I hope these folk get their money back, Vacca.
