Just got an email confirming my refund with a receipt confirmation. My bank said it should take no longer then 72hrs for the money to arrive in my account. So, once I see the funds credited back into my account then its a done deal and I'll believe it. Upon which I will confirm here.
Initial call from a recording telling me I had been selected for a free holiday, press 9 to find out more. The person I was connected offered me an 11 day holiday in Florida costing GBP398 for four people, excluding transport costs. I had to pay immediately, but was promised money back if not satisfied. She said they had got my number as a referral from someone who stayed in their resort. She also referred me to a website, which did exist:www.tropicalgrandvacations.info/ukThis mentioned the Resort in Orlando "Calypso Cay Resort". I have since searched for it on the net and it does exist and got mixed reviews on tripadvisor.com but most hits were sites associating it with telemarketing scams. I didn't go for it. I did a 1471 afterwards but the number was not available. This may not be sinister as they said they were calling from Florida.
Just been called from Tropical Grand Vacations, stupidly I pressed Number 9 to accept a holiday that I had won?! An amercian man by the name of David Seers told me I had won a holiday, blah blah, I asked him what the catch was to be told none, if I had access to the internet he would direct me to their site. I typed in the address given, luckily there was a post explaining that this was a telephone scam and he immediately put the phone down. I have just phoned BT to report it, but unfortunatley because I pressed 9 to accept the call I will be charged and they don't know how much yet? Thankfully I had access to the internet, before I had given any details or been conned into a payment, and I know now never to press a number to accept a call again.
phone number was 1800638753Caller asked for credit card number and payment for ~$600 for holiday to florida - this amount and another ~$800 was immediately taken out - not answering their number nowReported to fraud section of our bankchecked this website and discoverd it was a scam
Confirmation Number: ST021109104.I have been trying to contact 'Tropical Grand Vacations' since February as I have not received the holiday package through the mail as I was promised. I phone the Uk number which is dead, the USA number asks me to call back, then cuts me off and the other numbers for Aus.and Ireland are not recognised. I have sent numerous emails to confirmation5@tropicalgrandvacations.com also to reservations@tropicalgrandvacations.com and have not received a single reply. There is obviously something very fishy with all this. I would love you to prove me wrong and contact me and lets see if I can actually salvage a holiday from this shambles.W. Its amazing as I read through all the bloggs about people not being able to contact you. You still give out the same useless phone numbers and email address. I have tried and tried and tried to call on these numbers and email details and not once in four months have I received a reply. What does that say about your company. W. Sharrock
How did you actually manage to get to speak to these guys. I can't get through at all. All the nembers except the US one are dead and the US just tells you to call back as the lines are busy.
