Hi Andrew,Are you from Northern Ireland? Did you recently take part in a door-to-door marketing survey here? Unlike you, I have fell for this scam and as you can imagine I feel rather stupid now. However, I don't understand where they got my personal details from, because my home telephone is ex-directory and they also knew that I owned a Visa credit card. This leads me to believe that the Marketing survey company in NI has sold on the information to Matza Marketing Inc, which is the company responsible for Tropical Grand Vacations.I would like to know of anyone who took part in this marketing survey here. How do you think they got your information? Please help if you can. Many thanks
I just got the call from this Matza Ltd - I knew that it was a dodge, so I went along with the ride and just gave them false details and how excited I was. Fools.John - Call Agent - Tropical Vacations Sheri Adams - Call SupervisorSteven - From LegalThe Package of a Lifetime Included:5 Days in Orlando 5 Days in FloridaVIP at Daytona Beach Blah blah blah, and the more excited I sounded the more they offered to me. Sadly as soon as they told me what the charge would look on my Amex Card "Matza Ltd" I jumped on Google, and here I am. I gave them a cancelled card #, which they will have an interesting time trying to charge, none the less the Client Support #1800 638 753 did acutally ring, but their offices were closed. Strange that I only spoke to them 2 minutes ago
Called 3 days after I had had general anaesthetic in May and fell in since I think my resistance was very weak and had a pounding headache at the time.Didn't really want any of what they were offering but haven't been to Florida and as I thought I could cancel in time, dave the OK.Have reported it to the bank. Looks as though I have done my money from the above accounts but don't want any more taken. This report from Adelaide, Australia. Was also rung last week for a free holiday in New Zealand but didn't bother. Have also reported this on Australian site of Pula Jones Tropical Grand vacations
My wife got a call from these scum. She went through the process as eshaun detailed. She was given the same phone number 0808 234 7528 and the fake web address. We phoned Lloyds TSB and reported it to the fraud dept. They are trying to take out £499, which Lloyds say they have to let happen before they can act and trace them, which sounds really stupid to me.Anyway, tell as many people as you can not to fall for this scam.
You were lucky to have spoken to Linda, I have only ever encountered an answering machine. I have reported them to the Orlando Police, filed a complaint form with Department Agriculture and Consumer Affairs in the USA, Consumer Affairs in Australia, do everything you can to alert everybody of the FRAUDELENT Company they are dealing with and NEVER buy any holiday pacjkage from them as it will never be delivered.
Hi Joy,I am delighted to hear that you eventually did get a refund from this company - I will try and remain faithful that I will have the same outcome. Will keep you posted
I had a call from these people - and fell for it on Sat 5th April. I paid £402 on a card which I stopped immediately and reported the matter to the card fraud department. I have just phoned the 0808 234 7528 number to change the address my holiday dox should be sent to (being hopeful it might just be a timeshare hard sell rather than a complete scam). The phone was answered and I was told the dox will be dispatched this week.
Hi there, I fell for the same scam on29th february 2008with $849.00 taken from my account. I have received no package from them and just want my money back. Matza ltd and tropical grand vacations are one and the same it appears.
