Good Morning,I have had exactly the same thing happen this morning. Had a call saying I had WON a holiday in the US and to dial 9 to retrieve it. Demeta Douglas of Tropical Grand Vacations then answered and Congratulated me on winning a free holiday to which I was sceptical of straight away. She gave me a website to go onto whilst she was on the phone - www.tropicalgrandvacations.info/uk. Looks great I thought. Then went into it further and it turned out not to be free but for £299 per person. No flights etc included. Then I asked about the cooling off period which she advised was 30 days and that I should look on the Orlando page and see the Gold Cover Guarantee - which meant nothing. I then said that I was not sure because I hadn't heard of them and she put a second person onto me who was the Promotions Manager - Jennifer. Whilst on the phone to her, I keyed in Tropical Grand Vacations into Google and came accross this blog and some more sites saying about Time Share, which I tackled her about and when she realised she had been rumbled, the phone went dead. BEWARE people - don't part with any cash!!!
we to were drawn by the too good to be true offer a similar thing happen to us years ago time share sales people talked about seventy people in a well presented sales pitch the old you will love to have this but sorry you can,t afford it of course everybody did not want to be embarassed by this and some people felt if these other people are signing up then we should we did cost 2000 pounds then when we wanted to travel no date matched our requirements as my wife is a teacher and can only travel at school holiday times these holiday sales con men and women will tell you you can go on holiday anytime but when you want to go or can only go THE HOTELS ARE ALL FULL AND ON YOUR DATES THEY CANT GET YOU A ROOM NOT EVEN FOR TOW PEOPLE NEVER MEND FOUR BUT THEY TELL YOU THAT YOU COULD GO AT ANY TIME BUT THE DATES NEVER MATCH UP AT THIS POINT YOU BECME AWARE THAT WHAT EVER DATE YOU WANT TO TRAVEL THERE IS NO ROOM AT THE INN sorry about the biblical quote but that is the truth perhaps they told mary and joseph the same thing the old tricks are always the best .... HOWEVER IF THE MATZA LTD OR TRAVEL GRAND VACATIONS JOKERS WRE PAID BY CREDIT CARD IF THEY FAIL TO SUPPLY A HOLIDAY WITH IN THE 18 MOTHS THEN YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY SHOULD REFUND ALL MONEY TO YOUR ACCOUNT THEN THEY RECLAIM THE MONEY FROM THE BANK THAT THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY PAID THE MONEY INTO YOU WILL HAVE TO BE PATIENT THATS WHAT WERE DOING I HOPE YOUR MONEY GETS BACK INTO YOUR ACCONTS SO YOU CAN ENJOY AN ABTA TYPE REGULATED HOLIDAY ALLTHE BEST YOURS KENNY
I have been watching this site for the last 5 months after having gone through exactly what everyone else has gone through. Phone call received from TGV in April no package, contacted NAB in Melbourne Australia fraud dept. Heard nothing, though rang every now and then the fraud dept to see what was happening. Lo and behold mid September the elusive package arrived! From India. Returned the package saying I no longer want to go ahead with the contract. Checked my visa card statement this morning and the entire amount of close to $900AU has been credited back into my account! It has taken 5 months but they finally have refunded my money. Keep in touch with your bank, don't bother ringing TGV and unfortunately, just wait. I really hope you all get your money back. I was thinking I wld never see it again.
My credit card was finally reimbursed, but it also took almost 5 months. I just hope the others get their money back.
I had got a call from TGV in 07/06/08, and unfortunately fell into the trap of these fake people from TGV, they deducted 403 pounds from my credit card account on that same day. I called them up next day again, to cancel d holiday, n requested them to giv my refund back, as I felt that things were not quite right. They assured me that my money will be refunded to me over the phone, and that I neednot post a letter of cancellation to them. After 2 months frm the date of purchase, I received a package frm them.I kept on calling them and finally also posted my letter of cancellation to their address(not d certificates) to refund my money till sept'2008, till one day in sept'2008, when they told me that they are not going to refund my money, as they received my letter of cancellation after 30 days of receipt of the package. And unfortunately I have only come to know that they are fraud, yesterday from this site. I dont knw wht to do nw...can somebody please advise me, as to how to get my money back from these a******s...
