Responding to IKnow:This is referring to a long ago post, but I just received a call from this number, and verified that it was indeed Medco. Thanks for your "insider scoop", but what prompted me to post this message is to ask you, why do you call people names online? It makes you look so terrible, even if we don't "know" you. Just saying, there are ways to get a message across without denigrating their character.
I just received a call from this number. They said that it was "Benefits Assist." The woman asked for me by name, so this kinda creeps me out. I do use Medco, so I am wondering if somehow Medco's client list somehow got out and they are now switching tactics and calling themselves "Benefits Assist?"
This number called me 3 times today. On the 3rd time, I answered it, she said it was MEDCO and she asked for my wife by name. I said "we're not interested and please don't call us again."I suspect that this MIGHT be a Medco subcontractor. I think that they're calling to get us to quit using the retail pharmacy and only use them via mailorder. It's a way for Medco to milk a few coins out of their customers and reduce their own costs. This is "over the line", to me. They are a prescription insurance company and nothing more. If our doctor writes a prescription, we bring it to the drug store or mail it in. We don't really care if MEDCO would prefer not to pay it... under contract, they have to!
I keep getting calls from this number. I do not know them, an wish they would stop calling me
Update: This call is from MEDCO or from a MEDCO contractor.I went to the MEDCO site and sent a customer service request, including the 201 891 1029 number. I told them that I did not want to receive calls from them, that all communication should be via email or U.S. mail. Here is their response:"Thank you for your online inquiry. We have removed you from receiving financial, clinical opportunities, and outbound pre-recorded message communications. Please note, we are unable to e-mail you if we require information for your prescriptions orders. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.Thank you for visiting medco.com."Very interesting, don't you think? This contradicts their website, where they say they only call in response to customer queries. Anyway, the calling WAS authorized by MEDCO!
I have been receiving similar hang up and no vm calls from this number in the past 3 days. It is getting very annoying.
Calls from 201-891-1029 Wycoff, NJ. Never leave a message but calls at least twice a day. Want calls to stop immediately.
Got a call from someone claiming to represent "Medco Pharmacy." She had a heavy accent and sounded distant. The supposed "Medco" rep left a message asking me to call the number 877-842-5033, though caller ID said it originated from 201-891-1029. Unfortunately, I was walking in the door when she was leaving the message and didn't hear what it was about; I answered before she hung up and...well, I was a total idiot and answered her request for my wife's birthdate without thinking. And here I thought I was smart enough to avoid these scams, UGH. The rep asked for my wife by name, and was very convincing. BEWARE. Medco doesn't call, they send email/mail. Hopefully they will just use that information for marketing purposes, but I'll be watching my bank statements anyway.
