I had recieved email from google saying someone in indonesia had tried to hack my account and that i should do a two step verification to make safer asked to recieve call with number. This was the phone number that called and gave me code. 626 831 9833 was the number that sent me text version.
Me and my wife got the same call at 2:00 am in the morning like two times then at 1:00pm then at 4:00 pm all in the same day 4/21/2015...
PEOPLE, PEOPLE, PEOPLE!!!!!Do NOT verify ANY information about ANYTHING unless YOU make the call to THEM!If it's actually google, they would email you through your google account!Even if it really is google, they are breaking the first rule of internet safety!NEVER GIVE OUT INFORMATION ON THE PHONE WHEN THEY CALL YOU!Even if it's your bank or ANYBODY do NOT just give out information!Tell them you will call them back and then LOOK UP THE PHONE NUMBER YOURSELF!If they give you the number to call back it could just as easily be their own home or cell number and as long as they answer the phone with a business name, you still couldn't be sure.DON'T MAKE IDENTITY THEFT OR SCAMMING YOUR BANK ACCOUNT, PAYPAL ACCOUNT CREDIT CARD OR ANYTHING ELSE EASY FOR THEM!And if they see that you are being cautious they will think it would be too much time & trouble to scam you and go on to try someone easier.
I received a text from google first with a verification code. Then seconds later got a phone call with a message about the verification code. I didn't ask for any of this and have been looking all day to get incontact with Google to make sure that no one is using my personal information to get what they want.
