I got a call from this number and Google or not, I never provided them my phone #, nor did I initiate any set up for services from them.
202-455-8888 is the phone number used by Google to verify your phone number for their security AND/OR Google Voice/HangoutsI just set up my Android phone with Google Hangouts (& the Hangouts Dialer add-on) on my computer from Google's settings page for my account, and on the page it shows a simple security number (its always 2 digits, mine was 59 if I recall correctly...)I clicked the button on the website to receive a call from Google, and when I answered, a computer-generated female voice stated to enter the 2 digit security code to verify my phone number. I entered the 2 digit code and promptly hung up (I forget if the female voice said "Correct" or "Thank you" or anything along those lines - I don't think anything was said after I entered the 2 digit code if I remember correctly)Anyway, my Google Hangouts + Hangouts Dialer is working 100% fine and working properly. None of my account info is in jeopardy of being stolen/hacked/whatever. Just wanted to share my story so hopefully no one else is wondering why this phone number is calling/has called you.Again, 202-455-888 is used by Google for verifying your phone number!
I got a call from this number and I too will not answer any number I dont know. No message was left..I did not received any text giving any "access code." As others have said....DONT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION OVER PHONE...unless you called them!!
I got a voice mail from 202-455-8888 to check my e mail for a 2 digit code they(?) sent me.Problem is I never called this number or contacted anybody for a code.
i keep recieveing phone calls from this number telling me i,m eligable for a gov. grant of 7,000 and pay back with in 6months was given a confirmation # and asked if i had a checking acct,credit card ,or a debit, so i could recieve the money ,soon as i talk with a ryan smith.theyknew all my info, which i was surprised,to hear ,no i didnot return the call back.
Checked my cell phone for messages a few minutes ago, and found that someone called from 202-455-8888 but didn't leave a message.
Omg it's not a stalker or Facebook pervert or any of that. Nonsense I just recieved a text and a voice mail just like al of you .. I have onkybever recieved a text link unless I asked never a call so I just went to settings and changed privacy. Because Google is trying to ALERT you your account is in possible danger of being hacked calm down it's to protect you
