I literally just bought something on Amazon using my work address. I received a call from (206-508-4014) moments later. These people are savages. NEVER ANSWER YOUR PHONES! Let them leave a message.I just filed a report for this number with Amazon. Not sure how much this will actually accomplish, can't hurt to try.
I did the same thing today. Purchased a laptop from Amazon, 30 seconds later, this number called. Never answered the call, looked it up on here, and then files a complaint with Amazon customer service. I asked them the same thing about called customers to verify info. They DO NOT.
It's Amazon. They called a few times. I picked up on the third call. It was a man in a heavy Indian accent and all he did was ask if I ordered this and this and this from Amazon (it was a $3000+ order). I said yes and he thanked me and that was that. He didn't ask for any personal information or anything. Just called to verify my high value order
Got a call from this number claiming to be Amazon and they asked to verify my name and last 4 digits of my card. They had those details correct so I confirmed them. They said they had called about a suspicious purchase with Amazon, and I agreed that it was suspicious. They said they canceled the order, but I should contact my bank. I first called Amazon who told me that they do not make these kind of calls. I then contacted my bank who had smartly been denying fraudulent charges to my card for the last two days! It seems w my stolen card information was sold to multiple parties but one of them stupidly tipped me off! Thanks stupid thieves!
Just got a call from "amazon", thick indian accent and got a scam vibe from them. But I didn't give them any information, so I was really confused about what the motive would have been for the scam.Them: "Is this?"Me: "Who is this?"Them: "This is so-and-so from amazon, wanting to confirm a purchase you made. It was for the amount of . Card ended with . Do you recognize this purchase?"Me: "I have no idea what that is."Them: "We have blocked the order and you should call your bank and make sure your card is secure."Me: "Okay, bye."What was the scam? Is it possible it was legit? I checked my amazon account and nothing was in the order history. But they did match my card's last digits, which I did not volunteer. Very confused. But I did call my bank and block & reissue my card, and changed my amazon password, just to be safe.
I received a call today too and ignored the call. They left a voicemail--Man with a thick heavy accent. Then called back again-I ignored that call too. I ended up with 34 emails. My Amazon account was hacked and the person tried to buy 16 items. Amazon caught them and credited my account immediately. I changed my password too. Don't talk to them. They can record you saying "yes" and get access to your information with voice activation---saw it on a news report.
Do not give them your contact info. Just got off the phone with the real amazon customer service and they said they will escalate whats going on.
Got a call from this number and they left a voicemail saying they were calling from Amazon to verify a purchase. I was suspicious because I didn't get an email about it. I contacted Amazon and they said this call was not from them.
Got two calls before 9AM did not answer because I didn't recognize the number, no message was left. After reading notes at this website I called my credit card company and found several unauthorized charges on the credit card. Among the charges was one for Amazon, but this is not the real Amazon because there was no activity on that account. Since that time I have gotten an email from Capitol One about an account being overdrawn ... I do not have a Capitol One account. Thanks to everyone who has posted about this problem or I would not have known my account was compromised until I got the next invoice.
