Received a call from this number today (9th this week). Picked it up for first time. Call was to request renewal of "Christian Science Monitor". Because this is renewal & not initial subscription solicitation it is exemption from the do-not-call list. Companies are allowed to follow up where there was prior consenting contact.
I have been receiving these calls on my cell phone, I have no idea how they came up with my cell phone number because I dont use it for anything but family..hmmmm, however, my home phone is already on the DNC list. The call comes up "unknown". I dont answer it because I dont want to waste cell minutes for idiocy!! What a pain!!!
I let the answering machine pick up but there is never anyone on the line. I get this call at least once weekly. I am also on the Do Not Call List.
I've been receiving calls from this company repeatedly over the last few weeks - I have not spoken with anyone or had any messages left. From what I've read on this site and others they are calling to renew magazine subscriptions.I used the link from another post on this site to obtain contact information for this company. I called the number listed there - (301) 881-2720 - and asked them to remove my number. They took the information and stated that it would take about 24 hours to process. I did not encounter any problems. Only time will tell if it actually worked.
These people obviously don't know how to read lists! I am on the Do Not Call list, too, and have been receiving way too many calls from Sturner Klein!Let's all file a complaint at www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html -just fill out the form!
If you have a previous relationship with a company they can call you even though you are on the DNC. Call the company itself, S&K and let them know.
Got a call from them for weeks, finally picked up and a telemarketer asked for Rebecca Thomas... told them it was the wrong number and he verified it with me and that was the end of it.
I too have just started receiving calls from them on my cell phone. I know I'm on the do-not-call list for my cell number, so I'm wondering if this isn't to try to sell you something because you've filled out a card or purchased a magazine. The call to my cell came in well after 8pm (CST) as well.
