Sounds to me its more of a scammer calling you guys. Got a call from the same number but stated they were not from that area code or even state. Newspapers do not deliver to people unless its from USA Today or a regular national newspaper.
i called this number back also and an answering machine picked up that says in the normal womans voicemail box voice, hello____________ is not available if youd like to leave a message.. and in the blank spot a man says "metro news" c'mon really... people get a job and stop trying to scam the rest of us hard working families!
They have called just once and I answered 'hello' then heard a clicking sound and a mans voice saying "this is northwest florida daily news, how are you today, ma'am?" ..granted I live in northwest florida..I just hung up.
I have been receiving calls from this number for months. They are marketing newspaper subscriptions for my local area newspaper. At least four times, I have requested they remove my number from their calling list and stop calling. Twice I've spoken to supervisor that says "number will be removed within 30 days". Calls continue.........I'm sick of these calls. Today, I filed complaints with the area BBB and my State's Attorney General Consumer Protection agency.
File a complaint at FCC.gov. Abandon calls (2 seconds or more of dead air) are illegal. Do the online form it only takes a few minutes.
I have been recieving calls from this number for about three weeks or more now...this number calls every moring between 9am-1030am...and everytime they have never said anything!. I say hello and they listen for about 7-10 seconds and hang up! I called the number back and got the voicemail saying something about METRO..... they are will not stop calling..but most of all they never say anything when they call!. wow..is this really a place of buisness? Who can I contact about this harrassement?
