Legitimate call from Citi Bank about a dispute I had made the day before. In the interim I received correspondence from the merchant whose charge I had disputed (the merchant agreed to nulify the charge), so I then called the Citi card customer service number to cancel the dispute. Citi bank caller didn't ask for any info, and was just checking that it was me and that I really meant to cancel the dispute. TOTALLY legit. Not a scam, not phishing, not a fraudulent caller. None of that... nada, zip. zero.
OH and PS, I made a police report in my city, low and behold two weeks later git a phone call from the police in the next city over, saying they caught a guy with all my info and he had a whole spreadsheet on me (where he tried to get credit) and police have been trying to catch this guy for a long time, they told me he is a pro....have not heard anything else, this was two years ago.. that SOB
What a conundrum! Half the posts say it's a SCAM the other half say it's not. I got a call from this number this morning. Caller ID said "CITI PWM". I didn't recognize the number and didn't answer. They left a voice mail asking from an unknown person saying that they needed more information to complete a request. I didn't call that number back but I did call Citibank Fraud (I don't have a Citibank account) and without giving them any personal information, told them about the call. They said they would look into it....
Saw this number on my caller ID more than an hour after they called. Caller ID showed "CITI" 1-210-677-1346. CITIBANK does not usually call me. I decided to give CITI a call BUT NOT through this 1-210-677-1346. I used the 800 number on the back of my CITI credit card. When I spoke to Customer Service they said that they themselves could not access my account because the CITI FRAUD DEPT. put a "hold" on any activity on my account. Customer Service then transferred me to the Fraud Dept. who acknowledged that they were trying to reach me. They said they noticed unusual activities on my account. The agent then proceeded to read to me ELEVEN charges starting from three days ago that they thought were suspicious. They were correct. I never made those charges. So I would say that this number 1-210-677-1346 is a legitimate number. If you still feel wary about it, call the 800 number on the back of your own credit card and ask for CITI's Fraud Department. I'm glad I called them back.
Left a VM they wanted to verify some purchase on my Costco/Visa card and I don't even have that card. They said I needed to call 855-375-7048
Based on reviews, this caller is a scammer pretending to be calling from Citibank.Please block from my phone.
This was a call from Citicard that I received while in the local Office Depot store confirming I had applied for an Office Depot credit card (handled by Citicard). This particular call was legitimate.
Called our office and said it was in regards to card services, after she gave me her 866 number I asked what it was specifically in regards to and she said card services, so I said no thanks and hung up. Then I blocked her number. Wasn't good enough at presenting her scam to elaborate on the "details". Too bad.
