I get calls from this number every [***] day, so annoying.

I live on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I received 4 calls (within minutes) from this number, the man (East Indian accent) indicated he worked for Windows (unavailable name on caller ID) and that I had to get on my computer because they are receiving a report of an error with windows. He was very insistent we had a problem and I had to become verbally abusive back to him (on the 4th call) and tell him to stop calling me. So far, so good.

I got 4 calls yesterday and 3 calls today from this number. When I picked up the phone today after the very first ring, I got the tail end of a recording. I called the number back and a recording answered and said it was MovieFone. I listened to the options and there was no option for an operator.

They keep calling and saying I have a virus

Also, forgot to say that my caller ID showed this number as Food Bank NYC

I did that the first two times and the same guy called back the following day, not realizing he was talking to the same guy... so I had fun with it and played him along for quite a while... and finally I asked him how it felt because I wasted so much of his time... then I hung up.

They called me telling that my computer contains corrupted files and they wanted to help me by instructing me to surf to some website. I refused. They called more than 5 times and spoke to me and some other time to my husband.

People, people....Use your heads! Why not answer the phone when they call you, be super pleasant and tell them you want to buy up every service they provide and that you want them to give you a total so you can write a big check to them and to kindly give you their name, business name and physical address so you can send the check to them! Tell them you must have a physical address because you send everything certified mail so a P.O. Box address won't work for you. After you get all the information from them, tell them you're going to go get your checkbook so you can fill it out and verify with them that everything is correct. Then leave them on hold for hours or until they hang up. Works like a charm every time.

These people are driving me crazy. three sometimes four calls a day and I am on the do not call list. how does one stop this.

All of these guys use a PBX with call spoofing software.Thats why its always a different number. As soon as you say "Hello" the software hears your voice and connects you to a person. I downloaded a file called disconnect.wav . Whenever I get a wierd number I turn up the speakers and hold the phone next to them. They hear the tones and the software drops your number from their list. I have been using it a few months with great luck so far.
