hi everybody....the site that you are talking about, is not that bad.....i visited the site. They asked me to pay $89 for a 1 year service. The $89 is the registration charge and in return they would be providing 12 months free support. The price is not recurring.....I visited the site but did not pay the price.....I wanted to take a look of their service....They provided me a tech support before paying and the reality is that my computer problem had been resolved by them.....I then happily paid them $178 ...thats a 2 yr subscription.....Now also whenever I call them they provide me free support.....no body asks for any dollars......I think there would be someone from you who should try out the service once.
I recieved a calll from a so called 'windows service centre' Not sure if it was dodgy or not.I dont have caller ID, so dont know the origin of the call.is there such a thing?
Hi, I have had the company (SupportOnClick) call me twice now. All the usual very dodgy stuff. The funny thing is I mocked them the first time but two weeks later they called back again so that time I waited and got all their details (Nothing more then what is stated above). I put a complaint into the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission). He made all the usual claims that he was from MS and the ISPs but then didn't really know anything useful. In the end when I told him he was a scammer he said he was a federal agent calling from Washington DC and I was in big trouble for wasting his time and that I was an idiot (real professional). Needless to say he hung up to me laughing. Most definitely a scam and fraud I feel for the computer illiterate who will fall for their evil plan.
I too have been receiving calls from this guy. First one went exactly as above using "your computer is running slow" and the error report to MS. He became really nasty when I refused to go onto the supportclickon site and when I asked how I was to know it was not a scam he tried to make me look a fool by saying he had given me his details by giving me the web address. He actually scared me because he called me by my second christian name which is the name used by friends, whereas people who don't know me call me by my first name. He also seemed to know where I lived and a few other details. He then said he had been contacted by BT. I got rid of him that time, but have since had about ten more calls from him and my husband has had one. After the second call to me I telephone Microsoft who confirmed supportclickon is not on their list of support companies.
NY # 212-796-0581 1800-698-9034 347-298-3770 enquiry@supportonclick.com they took me 4 $98.00 same scam had 2 close credit card ...
Further to message above, sorry, I used the name supportclickon when I obviously meant supportonclick!
Twice had calls from this Indian "company". Number was witheld but when asked they gave me supportonclick.com as reference. This site lists the 796 4064 contact number!I suspect they are planting and using Trojan droppers to get information from PCs. A few weeks ago I had a serious trojan problem which killed my virus and spy/ad killer software. The next day this company rang me and knew I "had a serious virus problem" and could help me cure it! How??? I had not told anyone!!!!I told the caller what I thought of him as he must have put the virus there and he called me a "Fxxxing mother fxxxker".Last night I had an internet problem which I resolved with my ISP. This morning I had the second call from "supportonclick". They told me my ISP had contacted them via the International ISP Agency (which doesn't exist!) to tell me they could help me with my slow computer. There are several articles about this company on the net, giving it a bona fide appearance, but they are all on free sites and look as if they have been fabricated to give it a respectable "front".They offered to give me an id and password so they could access my PC! No way!!!!!!!
I have just had the same man I think from logmein123.com. I was on the phone for an hour as he said he was from microsoft I beleived him. He showed me lots of red errors on my computer and tried to get me to run a program but the computer would only save not run it. He put me on to another man who tried again and we ended up saving it to my computer. He asked me for the last 6 digits on my license which I couldnt give so he gave me a 6 digit number so tech support could phone me. He said he would phone me back with help later when I couldnt do what he asked, in the mean time I have found lots of people who have had the same thing and its a s SCAM. Ive deleted the saved file, but is this enough? HELP PLEASE
