I feel your pain. I get these calls on a weekly basis and they don't get the point and I have tried everything- told them I didn't have a computer and I knew it was a scam and to not call back.... to which they replied, "ok, I'll call you tomorrow." I even told them I was recording the conversation to report it and they STILL call me back. Some days I get a number in the caller ID but mostly it's blocked. Called my phone provider and there's nothing they can do unless I'm willing to dish out money for an added service...

They must have started up again - I am in Australia - I got a call 2 days ago and the lady sounded so plausible I let her guide me through my computer until she told me I'd have to pay straight away to get the problem fixed. I told her to phone back later and talk to my husband, When the Indian guy phoned he said his name was Oliver Stone. My husband told him we were recording the phone call and "Oliver" hung up. I think they got my details when I opened an email from my sister then realised it wasn't from her at all.

Ethan ph 61 280147593 (not connected)told us $24 to register and they would see what was wrong with the computer as they had been notified that our computer had 50+ viruses and needed immediate attention as we would get error messages and PC is slow. We confirmed there would be a one of fee of $24 that was all we would be paying. We soon received an email we were charged $230. Unable to call to ask what was going on I sent email and they called us. Told us we had agreed to $230 support for software we spoked to owner, Kevin Watson, good name for a guy with a strong Indian accent. He said it was all recorded which is great as I want a copy as no time during the conversatin did we agree to paying anything other than $24 no mention of 2yr support at all. Hopefully I will get that recording/transcript and determine if it was tampered with at all.

How can I get rid of these people? They are telephoning me everyday now and driving me mad. I have tried telling them I am registered with the Telephone Preference Service, I have shouted at them, I have put the phone down on them, but still they keep ringing. This morning he started with greeting me by name and then telling me I owe them £55 for computer support! I have reported them to Microsoft and BT. I just want these calls to stop - they are driving me mad!!!! What can I do? Please someone come up with a solution of getting rid of these calls.

I'm based in the UK and have just had very much the same conversation with a guy with an Indian accent. Called to tell me that he'd received an error report from my computer, told me I was running XP (which is correct - but I guess most people are) and that my computer was running slowly so he'd called to help me sort it out. Told me he was calling from "Support on click".When I told him I wasn't sure why my computer should be sending his company error reports and that I wasn't having any problems with it he told me that his company was a microsoft partner and they'd received the error report through them (which set alarm bells ringing as these microsoft error reports are meant to handle privacy carefully - hence me ending up here when I did a search for it).Sounds like some scummy telemarketing, lying to potential customers to get their business. Obviously take no notice of the fact we're on the do not call list either. Would be interesting to know where they got the number from as I don't think the number they called on is in the phone book.

Indian claiming I had a virus, same story as most of the other postings. They called in Canada this time.

So you are happy to pay $89 to a company that makes fraudulent cold calls, has no legitimate office address and then allow them to remotely access and read every file on your computer????

Just googled this phone number and found this posting.Unfortunately my elderly mother was not so quick to realize the trick. They convinced her to dowload a program to speed up her computer (for 48$)When they wanted her credit card number she refused. He told her then he already had all the information he needed and can do anything he wants. They apparently remotely hacked her compter with whatever was downloaded, and when she called American Express the next day, there had already been a 1000$ purchase on her card.Pretty sad what these souless people will do.

See my post further on!!! These people are using Trojans to get info from people's PCs. The first time they rang they called me by a friend's name that is in my email address book and the second time by my first name! They have looked into your computer before they even phone you. They put the problem they pretend to find on your computer there i nthe first place!!!!DO NOT PAY THEM ANY MONEY!!!! If they were in Europe they would be in jail now!

Exactly the same experience as Bob. The guy with the Indian-sounding voice told me I had submitted an error report and they had been asked by Microsoft to fix it. They then said to look in the folder Prefectch and asked how many icons were in there. When I told them, they said that was bad and they would use their specialised technology to clear it. At that point I asked for a number and said I would call back. I then called my friend who handles my computer problems and it became obvious that this is a scam. But they are very persistent and very plausible. Then I Googled the number - 01274 900834 and found this site. Thank goodness. Surely Microsoft should be doing something about this as these guys are using their name.

Called, asked for me by name 3 times then hung up. I called them back and asked what type of outfit were they running, and he said, "I don't want to know." Definitely some type of scam. Blocked
