Total BS! All the stuff on the net about this company is a front. Everything is on sites where it is free to upload reviews and ads. They are not working for various companies. My ISP said they had never heard of them althoug hthey claimed to be working for them!
Found this site after becoming extremely concerned over 3 phone calls I've received from "Austin", "Alex" and I can't remember the other name, but same man each time, stating he had a report my computer was running slow and he was calling to fix it for me. The first time he called, coincidentally, I WAS having trouble with my audio driver and had sent my laptop to HP the day before by FedEx. So, I thought he was from HP telling me what the problem was. Unfortunately, he said..'Your computer has a malicious virus and I can fix it." I was shocked because my only problem was with sound. So, the tipoff was when he said.."are you in front of your computer?". I told him, how could I be if they have it there. After going back and forth for a minute or so, he became so beligerant and nasty because I wouldn't turn my computer on...I realized it was a scam and hung up on him. He had my full name, too, which made me think perhaps he somehow got into HP's database of customer computer problems. I called HP and told them about it, they were 'concerned' and said they'd have their security department call me within 48 hours. That was a month ago--so far no call back. Anyway--this man has called me 2 more times, the last one was tonite. I went along with him and he directed me to go to www.supportonclick.com. I told him, OK, I'm there-- then he wanted to know what I saw on the screen. Of course, I sure didn't go to the website and I said, well what do you want me to see and what do you want to do. He then said, I am going to get into your computer remotely and fix it. ***BIG MISTAKE*** I told him I had to take his phone number and call him back because my husband wanted his dinner. Bottom line--this company is definitely a SCAM and it sounds like they are malicious to boot since they get extremely nasty if you don't comply. How can we get them reported to the proper authorities to get them closed down?? How many unsuspecting people would go along with their requests? Very scary!!!
My dad unfortunalty got sucked into this when he had problems with his computer and paid £99. We have asked for a refund as when needed help my dad could not get through on their terrible phone lines. Also when we speak to them the language barrier is terrible we cannot understand them and they cannot us. This site has now got me worried that they will wreck my dads computer, does anyone know how to stop them having access.
We,ve just had a phone call from someone from this company. Thing is they said the pc was going slow (which it is) and that they had been sent a message from the pc so they were rinbging to sort it out. It was only when i asked the number to confirm and they started getting funny with me that i started to become very suspicious. I rung the number they gave me (the bradford number) and it said i could not call india and so i knew it was dodgy and googled the telephone number and found this site. How many people have fallen for this???? They are very convincing and if my mum ahd answered the phone she would have believed them!God it makes me soooooo cross!!
I don't have caller id, but the descriptions of the calls are remarkably like the 2 I've gotten today and yesterday. Since I use a Mac, I just laughed.
Your lucky you only lost £43, my mum in law lost £222 and on a pension, to top it off they have somehow disbled her Norton
call from supportonclick very much as above but no abuse was having some problems but had not reported them to anybody was given a number to ring if in difficulties 1274900834. Rather stupidly I paid a "registration" fee. On coming back to my computer I cannot log into my email accounts
I have had problems with the same Company and as they telephoned when I had a problem logging into e-mails which I had reported to Orange I foolishly thought that the call was in response to mine. I was told that the repair would be free of charge and when they were partway through the work, I was suddenly charged £250. I had to pay as I feared that having forced entry into my computer disabling the security system they would only cause more problems. I also spoke to an Indian gentelman with the name of Kevin Watson! I have been told by PC World that I was targeted because they found that I had large accounting entries on my computer because I am Treasurer of a local charity.I have reported Support on Click to West Yorkshire Police and also to the BBC programme Watchdog but have received no replies.
Received my first call last week asking if I was having computer problems. I said no and hung up. Got the same call on 3-16-09 and the man was very insistent that I had to get on my computer and fix a potentially dangerous problem. I am not computer literate and he seemed like he did have access to my computer because he knew that I used Verizon. He was so hard to understand that he actually had to bring someone else on the line for me to understand. He had me go onto supportonclick.com but when I saw that I had to pay I told him he would have to talk to my daughter. He gave me two telephone numbers. When my daughter tried those two numbers, neither worked. We were able to call back using the numbers on the website. How many people are these people going to be able to scam before they are stopped? Senior citizens beware!!!
