My son Laptop crashed and the next morning I was scanning his Laptop with difference virus, Trojan and so on software. Still sitting on his Laptop, when this Indian Lady rang und told me that I have viruses and difference kind of spay problems on this machine!! Questioning this lady how she get my phone number her response was we buy it from difference sources! Always hard trying to get me on www.supportonclick.com I agree it must be a scam or Trojan and or spay ware activation. My junior was on a free internet game page when it happened. (playing star wars / car games and so on
So I got a call today from an indian sounding fellow who told me my computer was running slow, and he had got an automated report telling him this and he could fix it. Naturally I was skeptical but let him keep going until he tried to make me visit that site supportonclick.com, then I hung up on him. Searched for info on it and it led me here. A very, very nasty scam and I can see lots of people falling for it.
Looks like they are still planting traps and cold calling. I wonder how much this scam is making them? Probably lots!I shouldn't be surprised to find that they are also behind the fake "WARNING! You Have a Virus! Click Here to Cure It" messages loaded via some Trojans like AntiVirus2009 and are making money from those poor people with a lack of experience and knowledge who have no choice but to click and pay!Seems that being in India gives them immunity from being prosecuted.Just try to spread the word to your friends and take care!
This guy called me with the same script. I figured out what was happening and hung up. I then logged on and filed a formal complaint with the Colorado State Attorney Office since I'm on the no call list and this was clearly a telemarketer.
Just received a call from an Indian sounding guy saying a similar thing in that I had been having problems with my PC and the Internet and he was ringing up on behalf of the ISP and he was from supportonclick. As I have worked fixing computers and datacomms kit for the past 25 years I explained to him in no uncertain terms that if I did have an issue with my Internet then I would report that to my ISP after confirming first that it wasn;t any of my local datacomms kit and that if I had a problem with my PC I'd fix it myself. I then told him that as I a registered with the telephone preference service what he was doing was illegal cold calling me and he said not to worry as he wouldn't ring again. I must admit that I have been having a few problems with Internet Explorer lately which I am still working on what is wrong with it on some sites but I can't see how these (or indeed this guy) has managed to infiltrate my PC as I never open emails that look mildly suspicious, I have two levels of firewall in place (router and PC) and Noton 360 constantly checking everything that goes on....but who knows as I'm not a programmer maybe he can find a way in.Anyway regardless of how they are contacting you I would say like nearly everyone else on here......do not sign up with them or give them money!!!
I had yet another call from this lot. They said the usual - "Service provider...blah blah..problem...been asked to call..blah blah" I said "is that support on click?" They said "yes". I said "No thanks you are a bunch of crooks" Stupidly left PC on overnight. Next morning my virus killer and spyware killer had been turned off and all my emails had been wiped!Reinstalled virus and spyware killers and they found loads of nasties.Luckily I keep a backup of mail, but I lost all mails for October!I think they are doing both - cold calling from phone books, AND setting Trojan traps via email and the net. I have reported them to my ISP.It appears some Indian call centres used by UK banks and Building societies are having similar things happen when UK customers upset their staff. Accounts and PINs have been changed by the Indian workers. This may be what is happening with supportonclick, but if it is, it is a very good reason to avoid paying them any money!
This si a lie because you and it are a fraud. The 'website' is coded not to show up on search engines. It is only a shell to try and make it look legit while scamming money.
I reported this to ntl Virgin and advised them that there may be contact between Indian workers at their call centre and supportonclick. Their Customer Service department is awre of this and tell me they are looking into it!
Got the same call as everybody else and at the start i thought he said it would cost $31 to reg. after i agreed he said he would go ahead and fix the so call problem. After watching the pointer go all over the screen for about a hour they then said problem was fixed. I then decided to register and he said that will be $131. for 3 years. there plan showed $145. annually. he said not right. HE said $131. after 1 year update no extra cost same thing 2year.When i received receipt it showed $145.taken out of my account. Can you trust this service. It looks like if you dont go along with them they could wreck your computer.
