THEY CONTINUE TO CALL MY PHONE AND DO NOT LEAVE MESSAGES AND YOU CAN NEVER GET THROUGH WHEN YOU CALL BACK
Stop complaining you guys. You guys basically borrow money from people and use peoples services and dont want to pay them back. PAY UP OR SHUT UP! Its your debt. Make a payment plan and stop complaining. Im in debt living in the shelter and on disability and I talk to my debtors with no problem. If you owe money stop complaining. I bet you if someone had your money you lent them you'de be complaining how this person stiffed for for cash. Like you're in debt, seriously how can you complain? YOU owe someone MONEY, Pyfft i wish someone owed me money, Id be on their [***] too to collect it. -.-
You shouldnt assume its fraud. Have you checked your credit report to see if you actually owe? And maybe they were trying to give you a deal to pay off your debt, thats why the amount was reduced, it totally wouldnt be fraud, they would be trying to settle your debt. Also just because you never had Sprint doesnt mean Sprint wasnt a parent company of another cell phone provider you had. Honestly if I were to call you about a debt you owed and you verbally harassed me like that, I'd press charges on you. How do you know they are obligated to identify themselves? How do you know the rules of debt collection? Most of the people I see on here want to dip out on their debts. You took it upon yourself to get in a debt, get out of that. You insulted her nationality threatened her with prison. If anything you're the one that was taken to court because you're the one who had a debt forwarded to a collection agency. If you do owe a debt that you agreed to pay in a contract and you didnt pay, to me you stole money from someone. You would be a thief. But I dont know your situation, They are going to continue calling you untill you pay, they wont spend money on court to collect because the amount is so small and they would be spending more to collect it that way. But because of people like you is why [***] is so damn expensive all the time.
And first of all. Why would she tell you who she is and wheres she from and you didnt identify yourself first? Lets say you were the type of person who doesnt want someone to know youre in debt. So you want her calling your home and say "im so and so looking for betty because shes in debt"? There is a thing with privacy and she was respecting yours, but ur such an a-hole you insulted that poor indian woman who was doing the right thing. I hope your proud of yourself bragging about all the insults and disrespect you gave her solely because she want doing her job and settle YOUR DEBT with a company.
Oh, that's a good one - a harassing debt collector suing a consumer who gave the DC a hard time! Per the FDCPA, no one should pay any caller who refuses to MAIL - email or fax not acceptable - proof that they owe a debt and proof that the callers have the legal right to collect said debt. Refusal to mail this documentation within five days of the initial call is a violation of federal law. Federal law also puts the burden of proving the debt squarely on the debt collector's shoulders. Federal law also states that you should not pay any caller who refuses to ID themselves. Most of the people who post here actually DO want to pay their debts - but only to the people who actually own the debt, not some FDCPA-violating shady agency or outright scammer. And "s***" - as you so eloquently put it (not really) - is so expensive, not because of consumer debt, but because of out of control banks and financial institutions who didn't do their own due diligence and managed to get the American taxpayer to bail them out!
Per the FDCPA, if you are called by a company, you have the right to know who is calling first. Identifying a company does NOT violate privacy, because the company is only giving their name. So, no, the DC calling that poster was NOT respecting the poster's privacy - she was violating federal law. I'd say "ur" the a-hole in this situation. Oh, and the poster didn't say anything about owing a debt - but wait - you're one of those "you wouldn't get called if you didn't owe" trolls, aren't you?
When these guys started calling they never left a message despite my outgoing voicemail greeting which clearly indicates that callers either leave messages or get their numbers blocked permanently. If they are pursuing me for debts I have no idea what they would be--last I checked my credit report didn't show anything and of course there's nothing in my mail since these people can't seem to use mail. They've been migrated to the hang-up portion of my block list but I noticed today they are persistent in doing whatever it is they are trying to do. 6 calls over the last 2 months at varying intervals.
So far I have 14 phone numbers saved for NCO..they call non stop all day every day starting at 8am and don't stop until 9:00pm...
