I received the exact same message as Carolyn, several times...trying to reach my son. 219 is area code for most of northern Indiana, east to west borders.
This number keeps calling me and saying they have pending matters against me in there office, once I say something they don't like they hang up on me. They either need to hurry up and serve me or stop calling!
If you go to the cops with this what happens next? Do they actually do something?
Same number called me, my husband, and MOTHER saying the same dang thing. i Finally called back and they placed me on hold 2x saying that she wanted to look up my info. She even had my last 4 ssn! So i said that this was a scam, and i was reporting them because where the heck would they get my ssn from. Also that if they want to serve me go ahead and come to my house then. My lawyer also stated that you would never be contacted by a third party if you were being sued, they would just serve you. The 2 claims were from places ive never lived and about a cash advance that i have never taken out. So annoying, ppl are so scummy.
i got the same call, the same message. i spoke to the guy (or maybe one of several people, i don't know, but this is the only voice i've heard) and he got very indignant that i was calling him a con artist. total [***] act. not sure how to stop the calls i guess they will eventually move on but it's annoying. wish there was some way to locate the actual physical address it's coming from, but i've read there are such things as spoofed numbers which appear one way on your phone, but are actually some other number.
I recieved the exact same call from the same number. You don't call them back. It is definitely a scam so don't feel discourage in the least bit. If they call you again, I would ask them to send paper documents on whatever you're being accused of and listen to how they will deliberately dodge or avoid your request. From there they will say they need to verify your identity DO NOT give them any personal info such as your SSN, address or any bank account info. Then you tell them to f*#k off afterwards. They can't do anything to you. You would know if you owe anything. if you were not served in person or receive some sort of paper work or documents in your mail stating as such.
