I finally answered this caller ("Adam") today because I felt empowered (and angry) because of all these comments.(Until now I had refrained from answering because I associated 555 numbers with TV and movies and didn't know what I would be opening myself up to if I answered). Adam (apparently from India or someplace similar) began by saying (in barely understandable English) "We have been getting signals from your computer. . ." I interrupted and told him my computer was well-protected and regularly scanned for malware. He tried to explain about viruses coming from emails and the internet, and finally, after I had reiterated this a couple of times, said that I must be one of the ones whose computer was fine (so much for those "signals" he was supposed to be getting). I continued to reiterate that I was updated regularly by microsoft and my anti-spyware maker and I had no concerns. He began yet again to try to explain why I should be concerned and I interrupted by asking why ET whatever was involved in this? If Windows was a problem, I said, I expected to hear from Microsoft in one way or another. He again tried to explain. I said that didn't fly and then concluded, "No, really ,why is a third party involved at all? If Windows is suceptible then why isn't Microsoft dealing with this; perhaps I should contact them." My next route of enquiry would have been those supposed "signals" they had been receiving. However, at this point he had had enough and clicked off. I am hoping I don't get any more calls after this. I would suggest people try something similar. It frustrates the caller, may get you off their list, and is rather satisfying as well! Also, I tried calling the number listed on caller ID (222-555-7777) and of course was told the number could not be completed as dialed, so these folks are using something that gives a faulty return number as well.Sister Laurel, Er Dio (Stillsong Hermitage)
I just sent an email to that contact:Dearest Amit,The telemarketing calls orriginating from your office, where your employees pretend to be working for Microsoft were at first funny, then annoying, but are now apprtoaching criminal in nature.I have recoreded my conversations with your staff telling me that they work for Microsoft and making other such false statements. After serveral requests to have my phone number removed from your call list I have decided to persure criminal action against you and your company. I have filed a complaint with the CRTC and have forwarded your personal information other parties who have also complained about the harassment from your staff so that they may also file complaints with thier State and Federal goovernments.Have a Great Day!

I have been getting numerous calls from 222-555-7777no one answers when we pick it up and no one leaves a message on the answering machinehow can we get them to stop
There isn't a Solution other than helping Feds find them....read belowI got a call from these clowns as well so I looked up the phone number 222 555 7777 and found this forum. I then did a whois to find out who owns logmein123.com and found the record below. I called the 800 number and spoke to a great guy in support.Turns out logmein123.com is a valid webservice that is being abused by these foreign yokels. When they ask you to login to logmein123.com (a valid site), they'll then ask what the screen says...so, when you go to the site it asks you for a 6 digit code. The code is associated with the company who has registered as a "support" service with Logmein.com.These dirt bags provide you with their code, then when you use it, they login to your computer and hack it...here's how we can help squash these internet bugs! So, if we want to catch these losers, we need to string them along and tell them we've logged in the logmein123.com and tell them to give us the six digit code to log in to this site. Write the code down and the time at that moment...BUT DO NOT LOG IN!! String them along and tell them the access is slow...In the meantime, use another phone or just hang up on these jokers and call this number +1.8009931790 and ask for technical support. When you get a support engineer on the line, tell them you are reporting fraud on their system and provide them with the 6 digit number the foreign dirt bag gave you as well as the time of the incident. Logmein123.com should be able to track that number back to offending organization, turn off their account and HOPEFULLY report these scum to the federal authorities.Taking action is the only way we can fight back against these low lifes. Thanks,The Advocate================= WHOIS WWW.LOGMEIN123.COM ==========Registrant: LogMeIn, Inc 500 Unicorn Park Drive Woburn, Massachusetts 01801 United States Registered through: Go Daddy Domain Name: LOGMEIN123.COM Created on: 28-Apr-05 Expires on: 28-Apr-12 Last Updated on: 29-Apr-11 Administrative Contact: Operations, Network noc@logmein.com LogMeIn, Inc 500 Unicorn Park Drive Woburn, Massachusetts 01801 United States +1.8009931790 Fax -- Technical Contact: Operations, Network noc@logmein.com LogMeIn, Inc 500 Unicorn Park Drive Woburn, Massachusetts 01801 United States +1.8009931790 Fax -- Domain servers in listed order: NS1.3AMLABS.COM NS3.3AMLABS.COM NS2.3AMLABS.COM
I've been getting calls from 222-555-777at all times of the day and over the weekend, and I finally picked up today to find a man with what sounds like an Indian Accent. He can barely speak English, and he tried to tell me that there's an internet virus that has been crashing Windows. Of course he asked if I was in front of my home computer, and I told him ,"No I'm at work." He's going to call back at 6pm.. awesome.

Think I may have got these people from calling me. I answered the phone FBI. Obviously they weren't really on the line or don't have a clue about the FBI, but they did pick up and asked me if this was a business so I said yes he apologized and hung up. Been a couple of hours now and no call. Previously today there were 5 on my phone.
