The simplest answer is to say, "What computer?" when they say they want to help you with your computer. When asked about your desktop computer, affirm," I have no computer."When they move from whether you have a desktop to a laptop, again affirm " I have no computer." They will apologize profusely and hang up. The calls will stop, at least for a few months!The next simplest answer is to affirm you have an APPLE computer when they mention Windows or Microsoft.Beyond this, you can simply give them a bad time. I tried this a number of months ago by referring to my anti-virus software and how well it worked, how often I ran it, etc. Then I asked why Microsoft wasn't calling me themselves. That last question was either the key or infuriated the guy so much he hung up on me. I didn't get any more calls for almost a year --- and this after receiving 4-5 daily for several days until I finally answered the phone.The phone number is obviously bogus (555-xxxx, don't they know that's a movie/TV phone number?) and there is not really anything to be done except frustrate them in their efforts. No computer works best.

This number has called me twice this morning. I didn't answer because looks like telemarketers. I am registered with the do not call registry. Apparently it is not working. I have been receiving more and more over the last few months. What can be done about these people calling?

Received call from 1-222-555-7777 which caller ID showed unavailable. I don't usually answer these calls, but today I did. A woman got on with a very,(what appeared to be a very heavy) Indian accent. She spoke so fast I could not understand a word she said. I told her so, and told her to have a nice day and hung up.

ALso got a call fom 222-555-777. Man sounding like he was from India. He called me twice. Says his company was contracted my Microsoft and want to protect my compter. When he called first, asked him for number to verify who is was. was given number201-338-6170. Looked up number on google. Scam. He was trying to get me to my protection software. www.ammyy.com

When I answer my phone they just hang up. (what a pain)

I have received several nights of calls from this number 222-555-7777 over the last 4 days. Once there was an actual person who tried to scam me like they actually did last year but I learned quickly before they got my money and I cancelled my Visa as well.

the number 222 555 7777 is from a scamer, of Middle eastern origin. People all over north America are getting hundreds fo these calls, they want access to computers to find credit card numbers, bank accounts personal information to scam people. Phone companies are working on tracing and tracking down this operation, but with difficulty. Because its originated in Pakistan, there is not much anything we can do right now but block them when possible. its a third-world country with no regard for the west but to scam and steal information and money.

Got a call from this number...didn't answer cause I looked it up on this site. No voice mail was left.

I feel your pain, but I think I have you all beat: My phone # is very close to this one, and when you all redial these jerks, you get me, a person minding their own business. :(
