IMPORTANT SCAM MESSAGE BELOWWe have been getting automated calls from 262-703-1977, the recording giving us another number to call back about our Kohl's card. We always pay in full and before time, so that bugged me.I grabbed the latest Bill from Kohl's, noted it is due on January 17th, so I called the number on the bill instead. They were clueless about the call. I googled the number that called us, and the internet shows it's a scam and is used to get personal information.Never call the number anyone leaves via message. Always call the number on your bill or credit card to make sure it's legit.
Never ever give someone your social security number over the phone. They don't need that. That is how identity theft occurs. Even if it is Kohl's they may be using a third party agency. Even if they are there are other ways to get your information. I just looked up this number because I got a call. When someone doesn't leave a message, I question if it is really legitimate. So until this company does, I'm not even going to pick up the phone.
This is Kohl's Collections. The call comes from 262-703-1977 and asks you to call 888-814-3555. I emailed Kohl's about this because I thought it was a scam, they looked up my account and it turns out I had a missed payment (which I didn't even realize) and that's why Kohl's Collections was calling me. Thankfully for myself I got it straightened out, but it is a legit call from Kohl's.
I hate to break it to all you paranoid citizens out there, but this number is legit. This is Kohl's collections calling about your charge card. If you do not have a Kohls account or have one that you think has been "paid in full", I seriously suggest you check your credit report.I had paid mine off, but was past the date that they calculate interest on and still owed like 6 bucks unbeknownst to me. They were calling me to cllect this 6 bucks. It is a robo-dialer which is why they arent leaving a message. When you answer, you just have to give it a second while the robo-dialer gets a human on the line. Pay your Kohl's account, folks.
262 703 1977 was phone number used and asked if I was....my name that they couldn't pronounce. Then asked to push 1 if correct, and kept repeating same message
This is not a fraud people. I used to work for Kohl's. The number that is left for you to call back goes into the collections dept for Kohls. Simple explanation, either YOU OWE a bill at Kohl's or your phone number is listed on an account inadvertantly that could have very well been a recycled phone number (phone companies do that also!!!). This does not mean that someone has stolen your identity and opened an account. Smn. Just take the time to call the number (or Kohls) you DO NOT HAVE TO ENTER YOUR SSN, WHO WOULD!? Do not be so quick to think everything is a scam that is how you actually get scammed!!! There is no need to call the BBB or Attorney General (it is not against the law to call and try to get payments on a delinquent account) Calling these companies will not stop the calls you need to call Kohl's to have them remove your name from the automatic dialer, simple as that!.
They called me today. I didn't recoginize the number so I put it on speaker and played some Christmas music into the phone from a dancing Santa. Judging from her reaction, (she said F@ck you) I don't think she appreciated it.
