Hi everybody,Just got a call from this number today. Never once have I shopped at Kohl's, never will. Don't have an account with them, dont want one. This is nothing more than fishing for personal information to be used for identity theft. Typical call scam. They sound real, leave you a real 1888 number, but the phone number they call from is not a Kohl's phone. If you call it back they either ask for your FULL account number, FULL social security number, or your FULL date of birth. To all the mouth breathers before me saying this isn't a scam number, you're all idiots and deserve to have your identities stolen.
In no case should they be calling several times many days in a row without leaving a message. Their name is not identified on caller id, so why would anyone call them back? These are harrassing, annoyance calls that anyone should complain about, and you are not seeing the picture clearly if you are calling the people receiving these calls "weirdos".
stop the harassing calls from kohls gestapo - and for crissake, stop shopping there!call this guy at home - ask for mrs montgomery, then have her relay the message to her hubby - stop the strongarm bs and telephone harassament. For those in the area, visit him up close and personal : )Larry Montgomery(715) 769-318312639 Cty. Rd. BButternut, WI 54514
I called this number back myself, they called my cell. Automated answer, thank you for calling "Kohl's Credit Center)...Either way, I didnt have my card handy and was skeptical about punching in my account number. Like previous emails I read..if it was important and legit, they would leave a message. All my other credit card companies or whatever do that.
I had 2 calls today with the same 'Kohl's card' in the caller display. I know my payment was not late, I called up and eventually was able to speak to a person. What happened was that my phone number was associated with another person's account. She was able to remove that connection and I should not get these calls again. We'll see.......
yeah,it is so strange that my son is receiving these calls. Is there something we can do. I called this number and it seems to be the store Kohls. Can we call the police on this number. What can we do.
This is a scam! When you pick up the phone an automated voice comes on- saying they are Kohls and asking you to punch in the last 4 digits of your SS#.- I am calling the Atty General's office to report this. Don't fall for it, don't punch in your Kohl's number or SS#.
On all kohls accounts there is room for 3 different phone numbers.. so if you are a person who lists the same phone on your credit card accounts and fall 45 days or more deliquent on your bill they could call 5 times a day. Calling 5 times, however annoying is legal by the Fair Debt Collections Act. Crazy as it sounds, they are just doing a job. If you find you are getting multiple phone calls for someone you dont know, your best bet is to call Customer service and explain to them you have never heard of so and so, and let Customer service fix it for you. If you do have a card, but they arent actually calling for you.. you could end up with some fairly nice coupons. Also if you get calls and no one answers its because most collection agencies run what they call "agentless campaigns" which is just an automatic message calling you to remind you your bill is over 45 days passdue. If you find yourself seriously passdue and getting calls from kohls they do offer mutliple payment arrangement plans.. including one that lowers the interest rate for 6 months (from 21.9 % to 9.75%) or another where kohls actually makes a matching payment with you. Answer the collection calls could save you more money then listening to the phone ring 5 times a day.I dont work for kohls, but I am a bill collector by profession. One thing to remember.. if you are pastdue on your bills.. best bet to stop calls. Pay the bill, that stops all your calls. Or if that doesnt work, mail them a letter asking to Cease and Desist on all verbal communication... that will stop the calls, but it will also get your account closed by the company and sent out to a major collection agency. Which doesnt look to hot for your credit.
I keep getting phone calls on a daily (sometimes several times a day, sometimes four times a week..) from 1.888.838.2958. When I pick up, the call goes dead, when I call back I get an automated response asking for my pin code. When a dummy code is entered, it says "your code has expired, please dial 0 to speak with an operator" so when you dial "0", it goes through-NOPE! It hangs up on you. Been going on for about two-three months now....little frustrating. And now this number has started up. I guess it's not a huge deal as long as it's not impacting my minutes...???
