Something is fishy.... They called fishing for my personal info. It sounded ok, since they had some of my personal info and transaction history. I did not disclose any info, hung up and called BofA direct. BofA could not confirm if this number and department even existed.... either way, better safe than sorry. Don't give them any info!
This is a scam. I just got a call from 302-458-1590, which i did not answer. I have NEVER had an acocunt with BOA. Funny thing is, most banks will leave a message to call back. Not these F**kers!I agree with what many have said here. If you do have a BOA account then call the number on your card. Do not giev these scam artists any of your personal info!Takes me back to the days of MBNA and there deceptive tactics. Good luck!
Just got the call from this number, fraud department. I called the number on the back of my BOA cc and sure enough it is BOA checking on recent activity on my credit card. So for me, it was legit.
It is not legit, please becareful. These people have already used my Bank of America Credit Card because I wasn't careful. They call - They convience - They steal.Luckily, Bank of America has a security feature on their cards so when you are taken you are not fully responsible, and they will go through each and every charge with you and those you did not make you are not liable for. But take my warning, please, the people running this scam are not you everyday yokals. I am not liable for the charges because they were not mine - I am still getting calls from 302-458-1590 claiming to be Bank of America with my OLD Credit Card number, and calls from the companies they ripped off in my name because the REAL Bank of America cancelled payment or applied a charge back for purchases that were not mine. The company using your Credit Card Numbers, also uses your personal information. Please becareful.
Received a call from "card services"" fraud dept" for my brother from this number said to return the call to a 8882316262.
Got a call from this number & it is indeed Bank of America fraud department. Be glad they are there for you. Someone actually hacked into my bank account. They were very supportive.
Both my wife and myself (2 different lines) received calls saying that there want to verify some charges on our credit cards and to call back at a 800 # of which my answering machine cut off the last 2 numbers, so I can't call back.
I received this call on both of our phone lines. I went on-line to B of A and there WAS a block on my account; it seems that there was a very large charge at a resort (higher than usual for my account) that was put on hold and also a smaller one for a hotel for the tune of over $700 which WAS allowed. Now they have closed this card and I will have to wait for another one. The caller ID showed Card Services and they did leave a 800# for me to call. I thank God that I did call the charges would have been on the next months bill. If you get this type of call, check with your banks, etc. as this might save you a lot of problems and money. +JMJ+
The people posting on these web sites re: scammer calling are people who work for the company who is trying to scam you. I get called from this number 3024581590 on both my landline and my cell phone every day multiple times a day. It is illegal for a legitimate card company collections dept or other to call you more than 1 x within a 24 hour period on any phone number. I have no bank of america credit cards and I am not and never have been delinquent on any credit account ever. This is a scam - dishonest people trying to steal your money or your account information. Don't answer the calls, this will tell their auto dialer that they are dialing a legitimate number now and you will get called more. If you ignore the calls, most auto dialer systems will recognize no success rate and eventually you will get called less and maybe it will stop. Illegal call centers like this are most likely not based in the USA and therefore to not abide by any USA rules, so it is a waste of your time and positive energy to even try to get off the calling list or to argue with these people.
any posting of someone saying that this company or number is a legitimate number is probably someone who works for this scamming company .... it is sad that there are so many web sites now with these kind of numbers / scam companies out there and because they are likely based out of the country, they do not abide by any us laws or regulations or the do not call lists - they simply just don't care.
