IT IS A SCAM. Received a call today at home with caller ID of 302-458-1590/Card Services. Contrary to other 'card services' calls I receive that are auto-generated and programmed to leave a call back number if routed to voice mail, this caller hung up without leaving a message. Having had six or seven accounts compromised over the years, I was suspicious and dialed the number. I got a recorded message instructing me to call 800-441-7048, which I did, but couldn't continue without an extension number. That's when I did a search and found this forum. Using a number in one of lkckrelply's posts, I reached a man with a pronounced Indian accent who sounded like I had interrupted his REM cycle. He said he was with BOA Card Services and that my account was flagged for suspicious activity. In order to help me, he needed me to give him full account number, which I declined to provide. Calling the number on the back of my card, I reached a customer service rep who said fraud warnings originating in BOA/card services dpt generate an automatic account notation. She couldn't find record of ANY recent activity in my account.BOA doesn't have resources to investigate these matters and suggested I call my local police if they contact me again. I read off the various 800 numbers contained in the above posts and none is affiliated with BOA. She gave me two BOA fraud-related 800 numbers and said ALL OTHER 800 NUMBERS ARE ILLEGITIMATE:800-383-0618 800-472-7970 (claims) lkckrelply, owen, not fraud, Legitimate number, infoman, Chai sung, the uninformed, Joy, Chris, & princesssxzms are names belonging one person, a societal parasite whose sole function is to obfuscate, mislead and defraud visitors to this forum.
I just tried calling the number that was on my caller ID. The message said "thanks for calling card services" and that the number is no longer active. More proof that it's a BS call.
This number called me and after reading most of these reviews I decided to call the phone number on the back of my card. They said they had not called me nor did they have my new house number listed which they happened to call too. The fraud department informed me that $10.00 was charged on my card recently out of state. This was not me. Luckily it was only $10 and I called immediately. Than goodness for websites like this. I am sure to take the same steps whenever I am called for any credit accounts.
No it isn't. The following fraud reporting numbers are copied directly from the B of A website. There is no fraud number starting with a 302 area code (in Delaware).Suspect you are a victim of fraud?Report fraudulent activity not associated with Online Banking: * CA: 800-678-1433 * ID, WA: 800.442.6680 * All others states: 800-432-1000Report fraudulent activity within Online Banking: * CA: 800-678-1433 * ID, WA: 800-442-6680 * All other states: 800-933-6262
Got a call from this number regarding fraud on my acct. claiming they were BOA. They gave me the 800-472-7970 fraud number to call. Further, they knew all of my account activity over the past week, and confirmed the fraudulent charges. They were not phishing for further info, and I called the fraud number they gave me to give them info on who I believe copied my card. After finding this site I called the number on the back of my card and they confirmed that my account was flagged for fraudulent activity and has been closed as per what the 302 lady said she would do. This number DOES NOT seem to be fraudulent at all. However, you should always call the number on the back of your card to confirm.
Haha! Sure you do! Now tell me why I would get a call about an card account that I DO NOT HAVE?
It's not just your credit card they call about, it's everything you do online banking wise, they just called me about a new savings//checking account I opened online and wanted to make sure that I did it and not someone else. The reason they called about it is because the first accounts I opened up online was from a different IP address then the one I just recently used and they wanted to make sure they both were from me. It is a legitimate #. She didn't ask me for any personal info just making sure everything was ok.
This is actually the real Bank of America Fraud department. They are very good about flagging suspicious or unusual transactions on your BofA credit card. They will give you a toll free 1-877 number to call them back. They just want to verify recent transactions on your account to validate. THIS NUMBER IS LEGIT.
