The caller left a message saying that this is Bank of America card services reporting unauthorized use of my account. Person identifying himself as Jamal left phone number 1-800-427-3449. After returning call, was advised their was not a Jmal at this number and requested my Accont number. I refused to give account number and assume this a fradulent call.
Caller called, said they needed to talk to me regarding my credit card from Bank Of America. They identfied what picture is on the front. My husband took call, and unfortunately, gave out my cell #. I could not answer the call when it came in. The funny part is, I tried to use my card at a small private business today, and it would not go through. I called BoA. I talked to them, this number 302-458-1590 is not, repeat is not one of their fraud numbers. He checked my recent charges and nothing suspicious there. So be careful, when this person calls, tell them you will call back to the BoA, on the Customer Service line. They will patch you through to the fraud department if the need arises.
Just got a call from this number saying they were some kind of fraud prevention company, there was some kind of fraud on my card, and they wanted to me to give them personal information on my LLBean Bank of America card. I said "you gotta be kidding". And the [***] on the line said "why is that?" I told her to don't ever call again and hung up. I checked with LLBean and they said it was definitely fraud. If anyone on this list says it's legit then THEY ARE PART OF THE SCAM. Remember, companies don't approach customers in this way: calling and asking for personal information. And if the caller tries to engage you in conversation, it is a dead giveaway they are scammers. These people should be arrested and locked up at hard labor for 10 years for what they are doing. They deserve to be harshly abused when they call you. They are destroying the trust between businesses and customers, and will ultimately force us to pass more stringent laws to prevent their actions, making a mess of our society. (Just be sure to be nice to the real companies when you call them to let them know there was fraud committed in their name, because they are offering you real goods and services for your money, the scammers are offering you nothing.)
Next time just ask for their full name. Then tell this person, I am going to hang up, and call back on the number that appears on my credit card. I will ask for you when I get customer services. Tell them you will not use any other phone number other than the one that appears on your credit card. Then do it, call the bank number and talk to a real person at Bank of America. Do not give these bozo's any information. You are right, anyone that posted this is NOT legit, they are probably the scammers signing in and posting.
I should have said above, that anyone that signed in and said this number is legit, if full of it. This is not a legit number. These were probably the scammers signing in.
It's a legit fraud department. Maybe a 3rd party firm contracted by BofA? But if you are skeptical, call the service number on the back of your credit card. I called the number on my card and they were able to verify which charges sparked the fraud alert. I also received an email alerting me of the fraud alert and my card would be frozen until I call BofA.
Got the same call from the Delaware number re: fraudulent charges. Sounded suspicious so I called the number on the back of my card.It appears as if someone from BoA did try to call, but the message left was vague and sounded shady, so I suggest always calling the number on the back of your card and they'll transfer you to whatever department gladly.
This number just called my cell phone, I didnt answer but I dont even have a Bank of America account...never did. So I'm thinking its a scam
