Caller asked for a name of someone our business doesn't know. When I asked her what department she worked in, she said she would have to look it up and would call me right back. Mmmmm...not interested.
Listen - I WORK at Bank Of America (Card Services) and I just called my cell phone from my work phone and this # came up on my caller ID so I know for a 100% fact that this is Bank of America. Relax haha. There was either fraud on your account or you are delinquint!!
PS we have to be somewhat vague in our messages bc we never know who hears it and if you are past due on your cc we don't wanna let the whole world know we haven't received a payment since August...and we don't think you do either!!
I don't even own a BofA card. So why would they call me? Something is up. Call the number on the back of your credit card. Don't give any info. This way you're safe.
these people are fraud bank of america operators... don't believe it guys and don't provide any information,,,,,be careful,,,
I just got a call from this number saying that they are from my bank (which is not bank of america), asking about a credit card i applied for, and asked me to fax them a copy of my drivers license...o ya, and its easter sunday right now and none of my banks or their help hotlines are open...im calling my bank tomorrow...im pretty sure this is fake number though.
This is a very valid point that I think everyone should read if they are looking at these posts!
This is a legitimate call unless you're wont to believe that a fraudster would call within minutes of a charge, know both to whom it was made and the exact amount, the precise details of all other recent account activity, and the amount and date of the most recent payment, and then want no personal information other than a name and callback number.
Yesterday I received a call and VM from that number. The woman said that she wanted to discuss some special options on my "business account". Guess what.... I DO NOT have a business account with them or any other bank. In fact, I only had a B of A card for about 2 years and I closed that account almost 7 years ago. FRAUD!!!!! I have called the B of A number shown on their website and they confirmed that they did NOT contact me and that my account is not active anymore. It's just another phishing operation.
