They called and told me that there were a lot of malicious files and folders that were downloaded to my computer... and they wanted me to log in to my "personal" computer and press certain combinations of keys. I asked them that since they knew about all of the malicious files on my computer that they should also know which operating system I was using. He made up some bad story about it not being important.I finally told him that I wasn't using "Windows" which he kept mentioning... and I finally told him that he was full of crap and that he wasn't scamming me today. I hopefully wasted a little of his time.

Told the caller that this number was on a DO NOT CALL LIST. He responded with "I will make your life a living hell!" I told him to go ahead and hung up.

Hung up without saying anything.

unknown call and not wanted

Guy with thick Indian accent said he was with IT department (which company, who knows), and that my computer had been infected by going to websites, which was slowing down the server. I played along because I was wondering what they were after. Anyway, he asked for me to get in front on my computer and directed me to the run command line (windows key + R); I was wasn't in front of my computer because I was doing other stuff around the house, and couldn't remember from the top of my head that the window says "run" on top when he asked. The guy on the phone got upset and said not to play with him. At that point I let him have a piece of my mind and that I knew what he was up to. He hung. Glad I made him waste some of his valuable time trying to phish info out of people or get access to their PC.

Guy with thick Indian accent also just called claiming to be from Microsoft and said my computer had downloaded alot of malicious files and folders and were sending error messages to Microsoft. This happens so often I know the routine. I play dumb for awhile and asked which computer in my house it was and was told it would be on all of them now. My husband is an IT tech and I told the Indian guy our computers were safe and secure and if there was an issue he would fix it. He told me my husband wouldn't be microsoft certified to know what to do. WRONG!! I play along until they get mad and argue and hang up on me. Just another scam.

A man called with a thick Indian accent and told me that he was in IT at Microsoft and my computer has a problem. He was extremely difficult to understand. I got the impression he wanted me to send him e-mails with information. Total SCAM.
