When my answering box kicked in there was nobody there

Got a call from this number yesterday. It was a girl claiming to be my oldest granddaughter. Said she had been in the Dominican Republic for a wedding. She said that she had been drinking and was in a car accident and hurt her nose. Knew instantly that it was a scam, my granddaughter has never been to the Dominican republic and doesn't drink. As soon as I started asking "personal" questions(the kind that onlyy granddaughter would know) she hung up.

Phone rang, no caller.

I got a call saying I had won a sweepstakes and would be receiving a big box of prizes. The lady just asked for my address and said she would be emailing me Monday. I assumed she had the email address, since she did not ask for it. I couldn't quite understand her when she told me the name of the sweeps I had won. Since I do enter sweeps, I didn't think it was suspicious until I checked the number and found several scam reports.

A friend of mine received a phone call from someone who sounded like her grandson (who is on a cruise right now withhis parents) he asked her for $2200.00. She was really scared for his life. Did not realize at first that it was a scam.

Received call from this number. Caller knew my first name and said, how you doing? I answered fine. Then they hung up. Called the number back and there is no ring or answer-nothing.

The number doesn't exist. It is from scammers in Bolivia that ask a person to wire money via Western Union to them. You'll never see your money again and there is no recourse once the money is wired.

This person called my iPod touch and I wan't able to answer. But it left to voicemails that didn't say anything except I heard beeping. Each one beeped 18 times.
