Rachel from Cardholder Services -- These people keep calling me even though I am on the Do Not Call list. I have tried repeatedly to get them to stop calling me and they just hang up on me, then call again the next day.
"rachel from cardholder services". you know the rest...made a complaint to FTC.(note that CNID is probably faked)
514-800-9999 Motreal PQ and 407-565-9999 Florida of course from Rachel. I'm on the National do not call list, but they persist and I will continue to report them.
Offered to lower credit card interest rates. Am on do not call list already. Hung up rudely.
I wrote my congressman, the FTC and my phone co. I thought I was really doing something. Then I started googling rachel card services and have spent the last three hours reading the experiences of hundreds of people on sites like this one. Unbelievable. The FTC just gives us lip service like everyone else. I bet the 1 percenters don't get these calls. Makes one consider trying to meet Chris Ambrosia face to face to discuss why he does this harassment and how does he make money from it. I've also been getting calls from some outfit claiming to be connected with Google and offering a website for a business I closed 5 years ago. Both my house phone and cell phone get these stupid calls and both are on the Do Not Call list. Ha.
i HIT 9 AND WHEN THE MAN CAME ON, i ASKED IF THEY COULD REMOVE ME FROM THEIR LIST AS i DO not EVEN OWN A CREDIT CARD, AND HE SCREAMED nop! AND SLAMMED THE PHONE IN MY EAR. mAN i WISH WE COULD CATCH THESE SCUMBAGS!
We are in the same boat with these calls. Had two today one from Rachel and another from a different group.Someone told me to hold the pound key down and it messed up their auto call. Well that didn't work. They say press 1 to discontinue the service??? Yup that didn't work either. We are beside ourselves on what to do.My DH did stay on the line to talk to a person. He told them we are on the do not call list. Well the guy told my husband to go do something which is anatomically impossible. Class act phone callers they have. I do hope they are investigated by somebody in the government without much to do. That should cover a lot of them.Frustrated in Ohio
As reported by others, told caller I was on the do not call list, and he cursed at me and hung up.
Rec'd this call for the 3rd time. This time I hit 9 and talked with the guy for about a minute. When he started to try to get personal data, I told him I was just deliberately wasting his time as he has been wasting mine. He was really pissed - I recommend this strategy, it might actually get you off their list.
So, the FTC can't do anything about this? I've been getting these annoying calls from Rachel for about 2 or 3 years now. Yup, they just hang up on me to whenever I am able to get a hold of a real person after pressing 1. Nothing works to stop them. I don't have caller ID, not that it is any good anyway, because they can just send "fake" front numbers over the wire that shows up on your caller ID. I think the phone companies are somehow involved in this crap. Just think about it. The phone companies are the ones who make the money from this kind of crap. Follow the money! They get people to sign up for caller ID, call blocking, number changes, etc, etc, etc. The FTC can't do anything about this? They government can track down Osama Bin Laden in another country and they can't stop some phone spam within this country? It's ridiculous. Someone on another site discussing this same problem said to "front load" your answering machine message with the SIT tones, the tones you hear when you call a number that has been disconnected. I have no idea whether it will work or not because technology keeps advancing and they might have found new ways to circumvent it. You can download a wav file form the Internet after Googling SIT tones or something to that effect. Record it onto your answering machine before your message. The theory is that "their" computer will "hear" the tones, realize it is a disconnected number, and purge your number from their database. It basically does the same thing that the $50 Telezapper does. These kinds of antics are exactly what is wrong with this country. At least a big part of it.
