So I got a call from this number just last night. The first time that I know of. Anyway, nobody here ever event went to the Acai site or anything. I can only assume it was given to the caller through a 3rd party phone number selling tactic of some sort. 305 is an area code registered to Miami, Florida and the Dade County area. the number is likely a dumby number that the caller displays to stop you from calling the real number they call from, hence an obvious generic number like 800-1000. Anyway, I have reported them to the national do not call registry to see what happens. I doubt anything will though. I have no clue who gave these guys my number, but if I knew who, I'd press charges on them also for illegal phone number solicitation.
Rec'd three (3) of these calls so far - they hang up shortly after picking up - do not say anything. (305-800-1000)
i keep receiving phone calls from this #, i picked up a couple of times and nobody was there and shortly after i answered the phone call disconnected.
I did try the verizon instructions to call block it online. It worked, it is free! And it is for my cell!! Thank you so much for letting us know! Here it is again if you need it:Log in to your account--> My Services--> (on left click Verizon safeguards)Spam Controls
305-800-1000 keeps calling. I never pick it up. They have been calling for weeks. Most of the time when have I received these strange number phone calls, they are from online rx companies overseas. Not sure how they got my cell number, but it has been a real pain. The feds need to bust these people.
I got a call, too, asking for me by name. Then she said "this is Asia calling from i-couldn't-uderstand-a-word-she-said, the anti-aging supplement". Ah-hA! Right a 6pm, with 3 in an hour "nobody there" calls exactly 24 hours earlier. But I HAD gone to a website for "the product recommended by Dr. Oz" and started to fill it out until I saw in tiny print that they'd continue to charge me over $80 a month after sending out the 'free sample'. I was afraid the charge had gone thru anyway, so I called them to make it is hadn't... and I guess that gives them license to now call me. I've been on the do not call list since it hit the internet for enrollment. But I told "Asia" to take me off their calling list; she hung up on me... So, now I think an email to Dr. Oz is in order informing him of what happens when you try for the free sample of a product he's advertising-- which his smiling-face ad does NOT say "but you'll be informed you're signed up for auto-shipments near the very end of your transaction and if you decide to delete the order, your phone number and name are still captured..." Stupid of me to even THINK there was such as thing as a free sample without any hassles... Learned me lesson on this one... and so much for my "adware/malware" software!!
I have had 4 calls with hang ups in the last 2 hrs. It goes to my voice mail and I can hear ALOT of people in the back ground talking but no one says anything and then a hang up. I have tried to call it back but no luck. I am on a do not call list and have only had my current cell # for 2 weeks. Another call and I am making a complaint with the FCC!
I too went on the site for the Acia Berry and only bcz i saw Dr Oz name with it, and today i have gotten calls from them and then hanging up. twice. Will call up the telephone company tomorrow and report them. I did order anything online only gave my number and then went back and deleted everything but somehow they still got it. Lesson #1 never give ur number.
