Back at it again..Just called. It's Saturday Jan. 21st, 2017.Right when he said he was calling from Tech Support I firmly broke n and said to put me on the No Call List and promptly hung up like I always do with any of them. Please people...Tech Support will never "CALL YOU" unless maybe you have already been working with them on the net and u ask them to.I feel sorry for the elderly folks or whomever that fall into their scheming ways.Cut them off and hang up the phone right off the bat.Run any number's your not familiar with on the net. See what comes up. Do this and your better protected. GL

Caller ID said "AKRON". Voice on line had a heavy South Asian accent, and static on line made her impossible to understand without her shouting. "THIS...IS...ABOUT...YOUR...COMPUTER..." Obvious attempt to sell an unneeded "service".

The issue has less to do with criminals and non-U.S. citizens, as it does the "Please Call Me" list, which is basically distributed to any Tom, Dick or Harry that wants it. It's a free guide of active, monitored phone numbers. If you're on the list, you WILL be called. "Here, please take this list of active, monitored phone numbers, and don't call any of them or else! Or else what? Well, or else nothing, it just sounded good!" If you're not on the list, you won't be called. It's that easy.I have two lines. One is on the "Please Call Me" list, the other is a private number. Guess which one is ringing off the hook with stupid calls over and over again, even with the same number calling daily? If you guessed that it's the number on the government's free phone listing, give the man a Kewpie doll!If you're on the list, you need to get off the list. Of course, there's no way to remove your number, because how else is the government going to make money if they can't sell your number to telemarketers?? Free cash for the government by creating a list they sell to anyone who wants to have it.

Young woman with an Indian accent, fairly obvious scam. Said my computer had been infected, malware, and hacking, etc, and they would help, etc. At the moment I don't own a computer!

Repeated calls from Amy Murphy, so far only silence when I answer. An autodialer is calling many numbers at once, only the first one to answer gets to hear the sales pitch, or scam. What is really bad is that the U. S. Congress has made it legal for telemarketers to do this, with up to 40 numbers dialed at once, leaving 39 people getting "prank" calls. If I called 39 people a day and hung up as soon as they answered, I'd eventually lose my phone and maybe pay a fine. But I'm not a telemarketer--Congress has made it legal for them. Of course the scammers will dial as many numbers as they wish. The FCC isn't going to help. Not with the telemarketers, not with the scammers. What can you do? You could go to your local police and request a "Trap and Trace," but that's no use unless the call is local. That leaves, I believe, only one thing you can do--waste their time. When you get a call you don't want, talk to them. Talk to them for as long as you can keep them on the phone. Ask questions--stupid questions. If they think you're stupid they'll be like a bass fisher with a prize-winner on the hook. Don't stop, just keep wasting their time until the hang up. If they call back, do it again. This will literally cost them money.Odds are they just dialed a number, and have no idea who you are. If they ask your name and address, tell them you are Abraham Simpson, at 342 Evergreen Terrace, Springfield Kentucky, zip code 40069 (Springfield's real zip code). If they ask for your credit card number just laugh and say your credit score is so bad *nobody* is going to give you a credit card. Ask if you can pay with a money order--if they agree to that and give you an address (P O box), send 'em a package of cat [***] or something. If they want you to visit their site online, just pretend to try (don't even turn your computer on). Act angry that your computer won't connect.

Caller ID popped up with Amy in Ohio. Wife got miffed and asked "Who's Amy". Well, that was a nice way to start the weekend. Glad this website is here so I can prove it's not a real person....
