I received a call from this number today, Feb 26th, at 3:41 pm. I was on a teleconference so I didn't take the call.No message was left, the caller just hung up, I discovered afterwards. After my teleconference, I did a *69 and learned of the call to my residence. I don't know who called and only learned this was some type of harrasement by visiting this web site and reading the countless other posts about this number. NOTE: I am surprised that my caller ID identified the number because most business callers, especially those from out of state (I live in Virginia), are marked "OUT OF AREA" or "UNKNONWN" on my visual caller ID. Because I was able to ID the phone number, my opinion is that the call came from a private subscriber, specifically a residence and not a cell phone. (Most cell phones are unidentified on my caller ID). This is just an opinion based upon my limited information and what I read from some of the comments on this web site. [Even when a caller claims to be a researcher or something else, the call can still be made from a residence.]According to one of the area code web sites I checked resulting in me coming here, the number is from Nebraska, specifically east Lincoln or Omaha. If anyone in that area has a friend in the phone busines or on a police department who may know someone at the phone company, I'd suggest you ask them for assistance. Due to the large number of complaints on this and other web sites, It's obvious someone is messing around just for the sake of bothering others. Clearly, they aren't in any legitimate business which may interest the local phone provider or police.Either may be able, or interested to help. Good luck.

Did not pick up this call b/c I was out and had my phone silenced, but I always check up on phone numbers I don't recognize due to id theft issues I had a few years back. In reading this, and noticing the remarks made in regards to CIGNA, I thought I would comment on that I am a CIGNA Starbridge Choices customer. I had called them a few days ago in regards to my benefits, so it would make sense I got a call for a survey or the like. They probably work for a company that leases out services for a variety of other businesses. Like, I work for a company that handles customer service for another company (Funai in my case). I deal with Funai Service, but I don't actually work for Funai. Also, b/c they are not actually telemarketers and conduct surveys they do not fall under the same compliance standards as telemarketers, who are the ones the Do Not Call Registry affects.

I received this 402-491-2800 call at 7:51 P.M on my cell phone. No message left. I don't care who it is and/or what they represent. These random/unknown phone calls are invasive tactics used to infringe upon my very right of personal privacy. I am only concerned with my right to privacy. Not theirs! Click.

USED A FEW SIMPLE TECHNIQUES AND FOUND OUT THE PROBLEM IS "MARKETING RESEARCH SERVICES INC", THE CEO'S NAME IS RANDY THAMAN, HOME NUMBER IS 513-232-2634, AND THE PRESIDENT IS TODD EARHART OR CARHART, LOL, CANT REMEMBER, HIS HOME PHONE NUMBER IS 513-573-0003. CALL THEIR WIVES AND COMPLAIN, ESPECIALLY AFTER HOURS, AND ILL BET YOUR NUMBERS WILL BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY TOO...............PS - THEIR MAIN OFFICE HUMBER FOR MRSI IS 1-800-SAY-MRSI (729-6774). I dont have CIGNA insurance yet they are calling me.

I just called them back. I got a voicemail that explains that they are Convergys Corporation, a marketing company, and that they want to give you a survey about products you might use. At the end of the message, you can leave a voicemail and tell them not to call you back. So after the beep I said "Please stop calling me at xxx-xxx-xxxx" and then I repeated myself.I'll see if it works.

EGADS... how much MIS-information can be stated here?!?!ACTUALLY... Norma, you're not completely correct about non-profits OR political calls - REGARDLESS of state. In fact - if you actually look up the code itself you'll find these groups are really only partially "technically" correct. If you quote the code back to them (if you actually know it, which it sounds like you don't) you can actually get them to stop calling to. This is REGARDLESS of state, that's why the national do no call list is FEDERALLY mandated. You are incorrect that these groups only need to pay attention to state laws. State laws may give additional protections, however, does not limit the federal do not call list.
