Called twice today, left no message either time. My debit card number was also stolen today and used multiple times.
Missed a call from this number at 10:23 am. Called back at 10:45. Number no longer in service message. If you all really think this number is your bank, why are there now several posts saying this number can't be called back? This is someone spoofing a number. It's so easy to do. I've done it before for harmless pranks on my friends years ago, so I imagine now it's even easier. Do not tell them anything, and do not listen to the people on here claiming it's legitimate.
Suspicious call, heavily accented person. Knew a bit TOO much about my recent transactions for my comfort. Called my bank immediately after and had my card blocked. Getting a new one on Monday.
I got two recorded calls from 402-609-5706, both of them speaking so fast I could barely understand what they were saying. Said to call an 800 number about recent charges on my Master Card/debit card. They had my name and the name of my bank. Called the 800 number and it is a small business in Manchester, NH. They knew nothing about the call, but said they had received calls from other people with the same story. My bank says nothing is wrong with my checking account or debit/credit card. Tried calling back the 402 number and got an AT&T recording saying my call was not permitted. I believe this to be a phishing call, but it's a really stupid one. Who leaves a call you can barely understand, from a number in Omaha, NE you can't call back, and leaving number that goes to a company in NH that doesn't know anything about all of this. My bank has called me a few times in ten years about suspicious charges, but the caller ID always indicates my bank. Same with Chase credit cards. I've also signed up to have them text me as well as call me. The 402 number is pure scam.
After reading these mixed reviews, I called the number on the back of my debit card. It was in fact the fraud department of my bank, the call is from Omaha Nebraska. I paid an unusual amount of bills online in the last 2 days and my bank did verify this is why they were calling. Also said that they were unable to get a hold of me -true, I did not answer. Thank you for this website, very useful!
I got a call from from this number and they left a message saying that there was unusual activity on my debit card and named my credit union. They wanted me to call an 800# but I called my credit union instead. The fraud dept said they did not send any messages via a third party and that this was a scam. Call you banking institution instead of the 800# they want you to call.
I got a call from this number twice today. I called my credit union and informed them of the message. I went over every purchase and there wasn't anything unusual or suspicious. My credit union told me it was a scam. I called the number back from my work phone and when I told them that I had called my credit union all she said was oh ok ma'am, we're sorry. The phone was answered by a third country national named Ann.
At 08:59 an Asian lady called me and asked if I made a 1$ purches from VS and told me she was with my bank. I said no. She then asked me if I recently made a debit transaction. I said yes. She then said that is all she needed to know. Then an akward pause.... I say OK and we hang up. Now at 19:00 I have used my card once at a store and have checked my account 3 times. No freece or missing founds. Could this number be used by Cyber Police or is a scamer number. Will we ever know.
Well you must be under investigation for a future crime if it is the "Cyber Police" as they are from the future.
