These [***] have been calling me for about 2 years now. I had 3 credit cards I blew off and they wrote me off as a loss. Statue of limitations on credit card debt is 3 years. They sold my written of debt to these Portfolio [***] and have been hounding me ever since. Don't give them a penny of your money as they are trying to collect on an already written of debt. They call with different numbers from all over the U.S. What you do is each time you get a new number enter it into your cell and set the ringer to off. Problem solved. They can keep calling me 3000 more times I will never talk to their bottem feeder [***]....

FYI: Report them to t he Norfolk VA Better Business Bureau. The company Portfolio Recovery Associates is headquartered in Norfolk.I have not received a call from them since I wrote to the Norfolk BBB.

Called my cell phone.....something about a 10 year old debt of $74????? Told her I had no idea what she was talking about and hung up while she was in mid sentence......felt damn good!!!!!

I too am getting tired of this Portfolio Recovery-They call on my LandLine phone, which I need for work and is also hooked up to my Fax Machine.I have had this number for 3 years-and My number is listed on my Business Cards.I have spoken to them a few times-Its an Auto Dial function, as when you say hello, it takes about 10 seconds for the call to conect to a person that speaks.They keep saying they will remove my number from their DataBase-But sadly they Never Do.You are Right-They are a Debt Collection Agency that buys Old Debts from Credit Clearing Houses for Pennies per Dollar amount Owed. The Original Company sells Old Debts to clearing houses who auction them off for a percentage of what the oroginal Debt was. Sadly when I say, this person is not me, and they have the wrong number, they keep saying they will remove the Number, but they never do. My Fax even answers many times during the day, but they still kepp calling back.Its a real pain in the Butt, as I do not feel as if I should have to work so hard just to have some company stop calling me. One person asked me to fax a copy of the Phone Bill and my Drivers License showing them I am not the person they are looking for. Great, I want to send some random company my name-DOB-and complete address to them? Get Real and Please Stop Calling me. Problem is, Call Blocking on Hardlines limits the numbers you can block after awhile.This is getting very TiresomeIts a Super Old Debt-How many people still have the same num,bers as years ago, not to mention, not many still keep a HardLine unless its for Business Use like me.This Company has HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & DOES NOT KEEP THERE PROMISE AS THEY SAY!!!!

Calls received daily; usually no person speaks, except today..message left with family member that the call was of an important business matter

I just got a call from this number about outstanding car debt. I have NO car debt. My cars have been paid off for years. The caller was EXTREMELY rude and insisted that I was wrong. I think I would know if I had a car loan or any other kind of loan.

These people calling are not calling from Portfolio. They are calling from some bogus company called AAG Claims. They are illegitimate....DO NOT PAY THEM & DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL/BANKING INFORMATION. The person that called me was called "Office Malik." When asked to verify the debt in writing, he stated that he could not (this is the first clue that they are shady). Then, I asked him not to call me at work. He persisted. Luckily, I have an attorney because these bozos have been at this for quite some time. We will soon be going to court because they have violated my rights since they were sent a Cease & Desist Letter. They are about to pay up big time! Now, I get happy when they call because each time they violate the order, I can hear "Cha-Ching" in the back of my mind!I would recommend that you get an attorney if you can. As you can see, it will not stop them (even though they are supposed to) but you have legal recourse to their shenanigans. They prey on you. Do not let them intimidate you by any means! They will try to tell you that there is an order against you, or that there is a summons against you, or that charges have been filed. All are lies! They can not do any of that and not provide any written notice to you. If you have an Andriod phone, use Mr. Number to block them. You can block numbers to were your phone picks up and hangs up on them right away. Use it! It helps, and Mr. Number still keeps records of when they call....more ammunition in your artillery for the lawsuit, espcially if they are calling after they have received the Cease & Desist Letter. Just keep in mind that they try to call from different number using different area codes and there's no limit to the number of telephone numbers you can block on Mr. Number.Good luck everyone! We have to stick together to bring these low-life idiots down!!
