GOT A CALL AT 12:05 A.M. FROM THIS NUMBER....I DID NOT ANSWER IT SINCE I DON'T KNOW ANYONE WITH THIS NUMBER AND I AM ON THE FEDERAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. JUDGING BY ALL THE OTHER POSTS ABOUT THIS NUMBER...IT'S A GOOD THING I DIDN'T ANSWER IT!I TOO HOPE THEY CATCH THIS LOSER.
I rec'd a call from this number at 8:47 PM on 3/18. I ans'd the call but the recording was so garbled I couldn't make out anything except "....so we have decided to suspend your privileges....." so I hung up. Tried to call the number back but got no answer. Smacked of a scam and I'm glad I hung up!
Got a call from this idiot saying problem with my ATM card and trying to scam me. What a [***].Would love to see these people locked up,,if they aren't already.
they have called me two times now one time at 8am and the last time at 11:40 pm I didn't answer and I'm happy that I didn't.
I received a call from this # this morning, but didn't answer it. I am happy I didn't. HOWEVER, my fiance' got a call on his cell phone from a different #, same scam. He unfortuantely gave them the info, then the line went dead. Knowing something wasn't right, he called his credit union, and they immediately cancelled his bank card. I called my bank to make them aware, and ironically they received the automated call themselves for a credit union. Don't ever give info like that to an automated phone call. If in doubt, call your bank or credit union.
Now that you have gotten this off your chest, perhaps you could read the other postings to understand that the business whose number has been 'spoofed' is more of a victim than are you. The best way to deal with these calls is to not answer and move on. By the way, Caller ID Spoofing (google it) is now illegal and the FCC is the lead federal agency to deal with it. However, I have my doubts that the law will help because off shore criminals won't care about it. But, it is something - perhaps the on-line software vendors will have to close shop. That would help.
Just got the call about 10 min ago. It is a SCAM... Dont call the number back, it is a legit Dr's office and they are aware the number is being used. I couldnt make out other than it asked me to reactivate my credit union account and to push one to give info. I work for Verizon Communications and This is a scam, dont give your info!
Got a call at 9:17pm, it was a recording stating that my "First Merit National Bank debit card had been suspended" and wanted me to press 1 to be transferred to the "security department". Don't have an account with that bank, so nice try!
Yeah, I got the same call from the same phone number @ 3:30am in the morning on my cell phone none the less, luckily I was already on my way to work. I mean does this idiot think that people would call us @ 3:30am in the morning to report a CC that i don't even have being stolen. I am reporting them today to the BBB and hope they catch the guy. FYI, to those who don't already know. No back or CC will call you asking for you CC #, as they already know it, they will ask you your security questions and pw or pin if there is an issue with your card, but they will never call and ask for you CC # over the phone. These idiots are probably from some middle eastern or 3rd world country, that it where alot of these scams are started from. Again BEWARE, don't give out any personal info and heck don't even answer the phone.
My husband answered the call that came in on my cell, stating that they were First Bank and that debit card had been suspended and to re-establish use, to press one. Then it asked for CC number. Who in their right mind would fall for such a call at 10 pm at night on a holiday? I dont know of one single bank that is working that late at night, not to mention I do not have any account with a First Bank. I wonder if some of this is stemming from that company that got hacked and had information from lots of banks and credit card companies.
