My husband received a call from this # they asked if we had changed our ACCT # for our SS checks.....This is fraud they are trying to get you to give them information to hack your account BEWARE
Report call to federal trade commission (FTC.gov) and your State Attorney General. Also let Social Security Administration know.
My wife just received a call from this number. She completed her online Social Security application five days ago. The lady called to verify a couple of items. The only personal information she asked for was date of birth and city born. She had all the additional information that was on the application. She confirmed wages and ending work date. This call was a legitimate Social Security call.
This is a legit call from the social security administration. They called me to go over my current work & health to update for my medical review as they do with those on disability (I missed my deadline to send it in). They did NOT ask for my SS#. They had my current number obviously and only asked that I update this info. If you currently receive SS benefits, this call is important. It is NOT a scam.
However, as with ANY call, refrain from giving out personal information such as SS#, financial info, etc. You can request to see your local SSA office rep if in doubt.

Called three times and left no message. The third time the name that came up on my phone was Authors Club president. I answered and the caller then said they were collecting on a debt, claimed they were recording the call. Scam.
