These people are a joke! The caller identifies themselves as "Recycling Rewards in support of the Childrens Wish Foundation" . They use "The Children's Wish Foundation" and wanting clothes, jewelery, bedding etc as a way to con the public into thinking they are a charity for children when in actual fact, they want you to give them your items to be sold for profit. "Recycling Rewards" in simple terms means "we take your stuff & resell it for our profit". Think about it. Take a wild guess as to who ends up getting 80% or higher of the proceeds? It sure ain't any needy children - it's the call centres and CEOs of the supposed "Foundation". They reap the rewards first & then "maybe" give some proceeds to those that truly need them.I the meantime, the president, CEOs, managers, etc all the way down the ladder to the employees fatten their wallets first - don't you just feel so sorry that the cost to fill the gas tanks of their Jaguars, Mercedes & BMWs has increased by almost 30% in the last year or so? Stop preying on the average citizen who can barely afford to keep up with inflation!!! If the CEOs, CFOs, managers etc of these kinds of operations even cared a bit about the truly needy, they surely wouldn't be earning over $100,000 salaries which they get from selling donated goods in the name of "CHARITY". These businesses / individuals should mever be allowed to operate in this country - they should all be condemned and put behind bars, considering the tactics they use.So much for the "Do Not Call" list! They say they are exempt from this list since they calim to not be telemarketers but a charity. However you slice it & dice it, you're a telemarketer if you make unsolicited phone calls asking for a "donation" of sorts.STOP CALLING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting to present themselves as a charity, but cannot leave a message? Anyways, searched the number and noted this is a service picking up donations and sells for profit. Some of the money is donated, hence the hook of being for charity. They are not a fake charity, but very close.
Next time they phone I'm going to tell them to come over for all sorts of toys. I'll show them how to play games.
I don't like unsolicited calls either, but this one is legit. The reason for so many annoying calls with no messages is that the system is automated. A machine is set up to call numbers in sequence and if no one answers by a specified number of rings, the machine terminates the call and moves to the next number. The system supposedly generages the maximum advantage for the organization calling, but it is a pain in the butt for those of us who work from home and get the annoying beep of an incoming call when we're on the phone with a client.
These IDIOTS have nothing better to do than HARASS (yes, HARASS!) folks 4-5 times a day! I have requested to be taken off their list but the IDIOTS can't (or won't) comply. Of course, telemarketing is the only job these morons could ever hold down... but that does not excuse them, their boss, their CEO, etc. from allowing us hard-working folks to be harassed for the same damn request over and over again! People in the GTA know *EXACTLY* where to take their recycling... there are about a dozen places to choose from, we don't need the f'n Recycling Matters (R.M.) calling every week to remind us. Because of them, I purposely choose OTHER recycling depots to take my stuff to. I wouldn't even give these guys a used blanket. Sorry for the needy recipients, but that should make R.M. think twice about how they conduct their business. May these (and every other) telemarketer rot in hell. How embarassing for the telemarker to have this type of work as his sole source of income. I say flipping burgers, washing cars, pumping gas, or even collecting garbage is a far nobler pursuit than this crap. At least those other jobs provide a VALUABLE SERVICE to the end users.
