when this call is received on my phone it seems they are looking for someone named cathy baldwin. The person making the call has a Britsh accent of sorts.I just want these people to stop calling me, cause I'm not the person they are trying to connect to and I know of noone by name.
Thanks for all of the posts and for he 800 number. I just called and got a PEACH of a woman. She looked up my phone number and it isn't in their system and neither is my cell number. I asked what I could do to make them stop calling and she said it was an automatic dialer and that they must have a different number for me that is forwarded to this phone number. When I told her there ARE no other numbers she just repeated what she had just said. I told her to stop calling and she said that the next time they call pick it up and they will go from there. The problem is that there is never anyone on the other end of the line. This is just NUTS!
thank you for verifing my story when it came down to getting my landlord involved for arrest i immediatly called 911 and they came to my apartment and used there own personalcell phone to call those people the police asked them if they get pleasure by harressing peopleand threating them and they said yes they do and they also make anywhere from 1500. to 2500.a month collecting money from innocent people like ourselves So yes get your facts straight i got my facts straight and still they keep calling me
These people have been calling me lately too. Here is the frustrating part. I USED to be an AT&T customer. I went with another vendor who was less expensive. AT&T sent me a final bill which I paid reluctantly because I couldn't access my account online; then I received a discontinuation notice from them; then I received a reimbursement check as the final bill was too high and THEN I start receiving the harassment calls from this number! I sent a certified letter requesting proof of the debt. They sent me a letter saying nothing more than the debt is certified--how is that proof? I have seen nothing and am very frustrated with this company!
well, I am in debt due to medical bills (not credit cards) and I do not care for banks either... I think both the customers and the banks are to blame, in most cases... not including those who have suffered illness or accidents and can't pay their credit cards/loans, these things happen... however, keep in mind that a lot of people have been living well beyond their means... of course, it's easy when you can swipe a card... but how do these people try to solve the problem? by borrowing from someone else to pay back someone else... YOU CAN'T LIVE OFF OF OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY!!! there are rules that banks and collectors have to follow... are they always followed, NO. if you get rude reps on the phone, chances are they were told to be rude. these companies teach their reps to do the wrong thing, but if the rep gets caught, let's say by an auditor who listens to the recorded call... then the company simply says "we didn't teach them that" and then fires the rep. they train these reps to follow the FDCPA (while in training), and every so often, they will have a re-training class.... however, off the record, they tell their reps to do what they have to to collect. how do i know, I have five friends that worked as collectors and they all quit because they couldn't put up with A) the collection company being so underhanded and B) the customers not taking responsibility for their finances. I know a lot of you may not like what i say because i'm not just blaming the banks... THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU or YOUR FAMILY, THEY CARE ABOUT PROFITS AND GAIN... i understand this, that's why i don't do business with banks outside of a checking account. regardless of how the banks really are, we need to start understanding that we can not rely on other people's money to pay bills, buy furniture... it's easy to get in debt... but it seems to me that no one thinks about how they're going to get out of debt if things turn bad... I hope you all resolve your health and financial situations... DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE BULLY YOU.... FDCPA, look it up, research your state stature of limitations and USE THE INFO TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!!!!!!
They randomly call in some sort of english accent almost asking for a Mitchell Fior but, we have a Michaeland my sister uses Michelle sometimes as her name... are last name has been mistaken for Fior but still I want to know who they are asking for and if it was such a private message why is it left on our answering machine?
I'm just a kid and this person is texting me and calling me asking me if my mom's ok and I ask who she is and she doesn't repy. She just says "is this Andrea. Oh sorry I guess she changed her phone number"Should I call this person back?
They sent me a letter with a list of prizes I would receive if I just paid the full amount. It was a bank account closed in 2000 and it was runaway overdrafts. The amount due was not for checks I cashed but for the overdraft fees charged by BOA. I paid the checks to avoid legal problems with the businesses but BOA kept the $30 fees per check on the account. So I simply went across the street and opened up an account there at Chase Bank. So this company sends me a catalog of the possible gifts they will send me for settling the account. The problem is that I refused to pay the overdraft fees in 2000 and I will not pay a crooked company now.
These people are jerks. lol they told me I owe money to att for a cell phone. I asked the to provide me the information and they could not. ( thats because I still use att ) anyway they told be the burden was on me. I didn't want it to go on my credit report so I wanted to take care of it. Called att and asked them what was going on. They had no idea what I was talking about, I then asked if they could research my account and get back to me to see if there was something they were missing. There was nothing. They called back a couple of days later I told them what att told me they said att was wrong? I ended the call tellling them to go f**k themself and forwarded the information to the WA general as a company attempting to defraud me of hard in cash with zero grounds to stand on. Let see if that get them to stop calling
