I have tried the "I dont have a computer" thing and they basically told me bullsh*t. I have also told them, I have sent my computer in to be fixed by professionals...they didnt like that reponse either.
Got a call from this number the other day and no message was left. Came up on Caller ID as follows:Unknown Name425-668-9652
I have gotten a few of these calls, the area code is where microsoft is so don't be fooled. With all our laws why can some one outside of the US obtain a phone # like they are calling from here only to rip someone off?????
Today I received 3 calls from this same caller/number. The first one he was silent and then said "good-bye", the second one was an obscene call, and the third I just picked up and hung up on.
Normally don't answer unidentified calls, but picked this one up.It was a guy with a very heavy Indian (or that region) accent who said he was calling about a problem with my computers Windows program.I asked him not to call again and hung up.(Now, I remember why I don't typically answer unidentified calls.)
call this morning from 425-668-9652. like other callers have said, this woman had a very heavy Indian or Pakistani. i have a hearing problem anyway, and especially with accents so had to ask her to repeat several times. supposedly from microsoft, calling out of the goodness of their hearts to warn me i had picked up a virus. told her i had virus protection from work and didn't believe it was a legitimate call. i don't typically pick up unidentified numbers either but have friends in that area code.
Phone call today from 425-668-9652, claiming to be from something like "Global Systems Services," or some BS like that. Anyway, when the call came in, I knew what it was, because this same number called me yesterday, although they hung up right when I answered -- but I Googled the number (and found this page). So today, I let him talk for a minute, and then told him, "I know this call is [***]...but nice try, [***]." Stunned silence, some stuttering...and then I hung up on him. Hey, at least I feel better.
Bought that Panasonic model and have blocked 42 numbers the first 60 days I had the phone. I love it.
Just got a call from same number , mans name was Alex, he said I had a virus and Microsoft asked him to call me so he could fix it. I told him not , he continue on trying to get me to open my computer , I again told him to forget it , as soon as I said I would report this he hung up. This is a scam , do not give these people any info.
Answered To an Indiana accent who claims hé is à window tech. Said I had a virus on my computer and I should write eventvwr and run it on my computer. Asked him for his number and I would call him back. Found it was à scam by typing in the number. Lesson to be learned: ask for their number to check their legitimacy and check on the internet under scams and the ,number. Never do what they ask no matter what even if it sounds urgent.
