Got a call today, told me my computer was screwed,I don't even own One,kept them on the phone because it would be expensive being they were calling from Washington USA.finally they caught on that I was screwing with them.they got very verbally abusive and hung up.Don't Give Any Info To Them
i have shaw phone service with a blocking number that i can use. i tried it with this number and the message came back that this number does not exist. go figure. fortunately i have a phone that shows me the numbers and also an answering machine. it all helps me decide whether or not to pick up the phone. i also have an address book on my phone to tell me who is calling. i have successfully blocked 13 numbers so far. but i do find it odd that the message came up. but i will just ignore it in future. i love this system. but i am curious as to who it really is.
received this call on Jan 12 2014. I never said anything. must have threw them off they didn't know what to do so started talking to each other in whatever language they were talking. IGNORANT PEOPLE. get a real job LOSERS.
Got my first (hopefully last) call from this number just now. I let my machine get it, but there was just silence till it disconnected. For those who might be researching this number, Microsoft would NEVER call you just to tell you that there's a problem with your computer. ONLY the computer's manufacturer would call and that would ONLY be if your computer was in imminent danger of bursting into flames or exploding in your face. This is a scam to steal your identity. I know a couple who fell victim to a similar scam and it's cost them thousands of dollars. THEY called a computer repair advertiser who did a remote software repair, but had asked for unnecessary information such as Soc Sec numbers and such. They did not give that info, but the hackers planted a Keylogger when doing the repair and they were soon, under attack. IF you do online banking / bill paying, I suggest running "Glary (1-Click)", "SuperAntiSpyware" & "MalwareBytes" in that order, BEFORE EACH online banking - bill paying session. Run Glary AGAIN, after your done. You'll be surprised how much better you computer runs, using these FREE programs on a regular basis.
this number keeps on calling. I don't pick up. I can block up to 30 phone numbers and IT IS FULL. Hope I delete a number that has given up calling! We can send a man to the moon but we cannot get the Do Not Call List to function!
A man with South asian accent. Received calls: twiceon Jan. 13, Jan. 11th, Jan. 3rd. x 2, Jan. 2nd x 2. Can you do something about this bugger. I'm sick and tired of those phone calls as early as 8a.m. in the morningéThank you.
I got a call and I "cooperated", I use the term loosely. Yes I followed his instructions - with the Internet off. Wants you to go to www dot showmypc dot com DON'T DO IT obviously. He hung up after he figured out I was screwing with him. Next time I'm going to welcome this call and be more "cooperative". Maybe they won't call anymore. Take the time to piss them off, they deserve it.
Usually I don't answer calls I don't recognize...let them go to voice mail so I can call back if the call is legitimate. Once, though, I was waiting for a call and got 'James' from Microsoft (that would be Microsoft India!). So I put on my best 'scattered elderly person voice' and said yes I was having a terrible problem with my windows and why had he taken so long to call me about it. I said that a big seagull had perched on the roof and shat, making a terrible mess of the window. I went on with details after a shocked silence from James. Eventually he said..." not those windows , ma'am, I mean your windows" that response only allowed me to give a testy response about how little sense he made. This time, no interest in scamming the scammer. Caller ID said V02052335510037... And that is a dead give away of a scam call.
