Have had numerous calls from 425-668-9652 and I basically tell them to get lost. What I don't understand is that when I call that number directly, I get a message indicating that the number is invalid? I don't understand how I can get a call from an invalid number unless the telephone company is working with these scammers so they can collect their own telephone line fees from these scammers.
These people seem to be using 2 numbers:209-753-4814 and 425-668-9652both numbers show up on my caller id at the same time.
Panasonic makes a phone that blocks up to 250 calls from unwanted callers. Digitone makes a call blocker that blocks up to 80 individual numbers and you can also block whole area codes with it. it requires you have and use caller id on your phone. There is a small fee from your phone company for this service, but I have found it is well worth it. I am now going off line to go block this number. Good luck.
A man with an accent (India?) claimed to be from Microsoft. He said my computer has been sending Microsoft error messages, and I needed to follow his directions to correct the problems with my computer. I asked the caller to corroborate some information on my computer, and he gave me wrong product ID numbers for Microsoft software I own so I told him I was hanging up on him and not to call back anymore. Beware: the caller was smooth. He was ready for each of my push-back comments and had an immediate, "reassuring" answer to questions I asked: Why would Microsoft spend money to call individual customers about error messages customers' computers were sending? (His answer: Microsoft hires other companies to do this for them.) My Microsoft and Norton products normally give me a pop-up message when there's a problem. Why did this not happen this time? (Your computer has been sending us error messages for which a Microsoft representative needs to walk you through the fix.) I asked him to give me some information about my computer to verify his story was true. He had me look up the Product ID for my OS. Then he proceeded to read the wrong numbers to me. I told him his numbers were wrong and that I was hanging up on him. Please don't call me again.
I just got a call from that number and my wife answered, she said hello... no response... again she said hello, she heard a guys voice but his voice was very mumbled and he had a VERY strong accent, she could not make out anything he said then the line went silent, again she said hello...nothing so she hung up, the call comes up as Washington. I really wish someone could do something about these people. I took a call from the same people a few months ago, they just dont stop.
I got tired of calls also. So I set my answering machine to answer after two rings. If the person calling is legimate, doctor etc they will leave a message but telemarketers just hang up and after a while they give up.
