This is a legit call from GoDaddy. My web hosting package with them is up for renewal in 1 month. They were wondering if I wanted to renew early and save 25%. I told them yes, and "magically" my package was renewed. I verified it with the GoDaddy web interface. THIS IS NOT A FAKE NUMBER
This week I started getting calls from GoDaddy also ugh. I logged into my Account and went to Contact Preferences and removed my phone #. By providing your phone number, it says you consent to receive marketing calls from or on behalf of GoDaddy. Multiple calls everyday is ridiculous.
Automated Godaddy message, thanking me for my recent purchase (I had a bunch of domains auto renewed). Nothing like being thanked by a recording to feel warm and fuzzy.
I got two calls in a couple of days. They were blocked by my "Call Control" app. I called back just to see who it was. It answered as a Godaddy recording and said a rep would be with me shortly and to have the last 8 digits of my credit card info ready for verification. I do believe the first 3 digits just indicate what kind of card it is so these phishers could just try each kind of credit care prefix to have my whole credit card number. I hung up being certain Godaddy would never want 8 digits to verify.
This number is GoDaddy. I renewed a few of my domains last week, and this was a recorded message (after a few second pause) (by spokesperson Danica Patrick) thanking me for my renewals, and to contact them if I need any assistance. Legit call.
Amen, David. This is a telemarketing call plain and simple. GoDaddy is not trying to ensure you get the maximum value out of your domain, they're just trying to sell you services, which I clearly have chosen not to purchase. My doctor doesn't periodically call me to see if I'd like a few more tests done. By excusing their behavior, Jack shows that he is either a telemarketer himself or someone who enjoys getting sales calls.
I called it back ffrom my land line and it rang and rang and some shmedley answered "hello" I asked if this was a business or private number? He said private number. I dont think it is Go Daddy.
I was called twice today by this number. First time no message. Second time I answered. It was godaddy.com (of which I am a customer) calling me to ask if I needed support on a product I purchased a few weeks ago.
I just received a call from this regarding my new registered website. I felt annoyed that someone would use my personal information and call me in the middle of the day, talk about my website, and suggest to increase their sales by trying to offer other hosting plans. I felt my invasion was invaded and that this was totally not acceptable. I have old numerous domains in the past and never did I receive such a call from such a company like GoDaddy. I agree that if I knew about this before hand, I would've never signed up with GoDaddy.
