It was a recording stating that it was the legal dept. of the IRS and it was my last chance to get in touch with them. I hung up knowing it was a total scam.
got the same thing as brad did, they were telling me that my home computer was getting viruses.
A man called with very broken english telling me that he was with Windows, he said for the last few days my computer has been downloading virus. Then he asked me if i am in front of my computer. I told him no i am at work and he became rude demanding that i answer about being in front of my computer. I hung up.
It is a scam! Hang up. I work in IT industry for the past 25 years......Microsoft is not going to call you about viruses. Just saying! :-)

I called Citibank's other number and confirmed this was their Consumer Support number. It is legitimate. Processed the information they needed to verify my account. I originally thought it was fraud but it is real.

We receive calls at our place of business from these people every day and they claim to be with Spectrum. It sounds like a call center in India; noisy background noise and each person who calls has a strong accent.
