This number is also connected to the "Mobile Patrol" App. If you look up an inmate and click to be notified of status changes.
If you fly American Airlines and you accidentally placed your cell number in the fax category on their website (i.e., AAdvantage account) you will be called by 502-213-2798. Delete the number and add it to the appropriate field and the calls stop.
This is a notification service that tells you when an inmate's status in the legal system has changed. It is not a telemarketer, debt collector, or someone otherwise trying to make money. The service provider is Vinelink and it is not out for your money. When someone goes to the site and enters a number to receive updates related to an inmate in the USA, and anything happens related to the inmate's release or transfer to another facility, you get a call. If you listen to the message, it tells you the name of the inmate and what has happened. The system will keep calling you until you have to enter the correct pin number to stop the calls. Someone has to physically put in your number and select a pin for this service, so if you are having problems, you have to call the toll-free number associated with the state where the offender is being housed and and select the option to speak with an operator. If you do not know this inmate or believe your number was entered in error, listen to the message because it will tell you who the inmate is and what where they are. You can then go to the vinelink website and locate the toll-free number you need within two clicks.
