They do not leave any voice mail and I have no Idea why they are calling. Have many scammers calling me due to death in family and it is disturbing. No time for all tasks let alone nonsense, will only take calls I can handle at the moment and leave the bottom feeders well.

The DNC list doesn't apply to debt collectors!

They collect debts for many entities all over the US, not just in Austin! Unless they mention you by name, it's possible someone else named you as a reference in the past and listed your phone number. If you never answer or respond to their calls, they WILL continue to call. As a debt collector, they're breaking no laws by doing so.

It's likely that someone listed you as a reference, including your phone number, then defaulted on the debt. This is a legitimate debt collector, not a scam!

They won't stop, especially if you continue to ignore their calls! If you never advise them to stop calling, they aren't breaking any laws by continuing attempts to reach you! They aren't mind readers! Ignoring debt collectors' calls is typical behavior for those trying to avoid paying their bills!

Don't expect them to stop calling if you refuse to follow simple instructions.

If they don't mention you by name, someone you know probably listed you as a reference and provided your phone number. This isn't a scam, but a legitimate debt collector! They'll continue to call until you respond.

I have the right to not respond to this calls and the right to report this calls to the BBB ,FCT they are attending to reach a person not at my number,and for your information I always paid my bills. They are breaking one law " robocall"

Just get this call.they didn't say what the debit was about and there was a recording with no one name on and what me to call a phone number I don't have any ticket and I didn't ever have own a car and have no idea what they calling me for.

My ex put down MY phone # and these people have been calling me for years.....from all different phone numbers....trying to collect a moving traffic violation. Being so naive, when this started I answered the phone and told them we were divorced and he did not live here anymore. They apologized and said they would take my number off their list. Wrong. They have been calling me for six years now. If I don't recognize a number, I don't answer it. City of Austin said even if he paid the fine, that would not stop the collection agency as they wanted their fees paid for their harassing me all this time. If I knew where he was, I would give them his address but I don't know. The only good thing here is that a ringing phone does not bother me anymore. You get used to it after six years.
