The typical scammer claiming to be from Microsoft and that your computer has "serious issues", blah, blah, blah. You can keep him on the phone a while if you some time to kill and waste this thief's time. It can be a bit amusing, but ultimate you will get to a point where you'll just hang up on him. It's really a shame no authorities take this more seriously.
This guy with an accent called me three times today claiming to be from Microsoft and that there was a problem with servers. I said I don't have Microsoft because my computer doesn't run on windows and he changed his story right away. I think it's a scam!
Called my home phone 3 times today. Didn't leave a message. Caller ID says New York call.
Standard computer support scam."Mike" (with a heavy Indian accent) said he was calling for Microsoft to advise me that my Windows operating system computer was sending warning signals. This is a standard criminal scam run out of India using a fake phone number via the internet.They are not from Microsoft, they are not calling from area code 516, they are not helping you - they are criminal scum trying to steal from you. I guess I played a little too dumb this time as he hung up after only two minutes of my playing with him.Folks, it is useless to complain to the FCC, FTC, or about the DNC list about this - they are foreign criminals and care nothing about our laws or rules. The phone companies are required by law to put through calls that appear legitimate - and these calls come in as legitimate VOIP calls. Only the State Department or Congress can affect this, and they won't. Even if the government complains to India, India will do nothing about these criminals because they enjoy the free dollars brought into the economy. Our best hope is to complain to Congress and demand that they act to both enable and require phone companies to develop detection and blocking technology.
Hi,I got same call from number 5166354085 they are really annoying and keep calling you. Someone have to do something to catch them and teach some lesson. They calling you even if you are at work.
