Just did a classic 40 minute prank job on the Indian guy from “Microsoft Support” about how my computer is in danger of crashing, runs real slow, drivers are corrupt, etc. Did it all while I was working out on speakerphone...actually made it go faster.Some excerpts:Yes, my windows are open but it is cold out...can I shut them now?It’s been at least a year since I’ve started it, why?Leeme look behind the desk to see if it is plugged in.OOOPS, dropped my glasses behind the deskNow it says welcome to Apple, why?Then he tries to get me to go into my registry to make some “corrective” changes.At the end (with my wife shaking her head) he wants my credit card info to protect me for 3 years.Hearing this thick Indian accent read backH_E_Y_W_O_O_D J_A_B_L_O_M_Ewas absolutely priceless.Killing their time is the best revenge, then block the number of course.
Wow! That was great. I just installed a call blocker (CPR V202) and this was the first call that was blocked today. It's been so quiet all day that I almost miss the constant calls from those losers ... almost.
This number called both my cell and home numerous times in the period of an hour on a sunday eve.
When they call me and say i have a problem with my computer i tell them ok then I'll call Norton they hang up
Like others, got multiple calls (with no message) and finally picked up; was a heavily accented man claiming to be from Microsoft and wanting to protect my computer—otherwise Microsoft would be shutting it down in a few days. Which computer? I asked. "Your home computer," he said. Which one? "Your Windows computer." I don't own a Windows computer. He hung up.
Indian accent calls all the time, says it is about my Windows computer. I told him I knew it was a scam and to stop calling. He said not a scam but I told him we were on the Do Not Call Registry and I had already reported him and would do it again which I just did. Calls on my home phone so not sure how to block him, so far no calls on my cell.
