Buy a Panasonic Phone, they have call block feature built in, when the number you don't want calls don't answer then look at the callers list find the number then save it as call block, once that is done if the number calls again your phone will ring once then block the number, they get a busy signal.
If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.
Received call from this number today and I live in the Maritimes, didnt answer and glad I checked this site first.
I completely agree with you. Now how to lobby and get this heard. I am more than sick of my private, unlisted number being called several times a week. I feel like an idiot paying for that service and I wish I could sue my phone company for NOT taking measures to ensure these calls can not go through especially since I also pay for call blocking. I'm not actually receiving either service am I? So shouldn't I be able to sue my phone company for fraud or mental anguish?I realise I sound like a mental patient but seriously, there should be proper privacy laws.
Just another scammer number added to Shaw's selective rejection service. Once the maximum of 30 call blocks are registered with Shaw I usually erase them all and start over with new ones. Sigh, it's an ugly part of the world we live in.
Just got one of these calls from M.Mcghee..hung up on it as soon as the computer voice started.Called it into the fraud dept here in BC and said unfortunately there is nothing the DNC list can do about it.The calls originate from outside of Canada on a VOIP network..So the DNCL does not apply to this.JUst block it on your phone and they will most likely change the # so they can contact you again.
They mention a government stimulus offer which is actually going to get them in deep sh*t. They used to call with offers of lowering credit card interest if one acted right away and it wouldn't be offered again. I'm in Canada, the number supposedly originates from British Columbia. Now with them mentioning "government" it will get the attention of Canada's Federal Govt. quite fast now that complaints have been made. They use other 604 area codes, 540, 289, and 647. All of them with the same scam and a few others like complete a survey and get free cruise tickets. If you report it to your respective government, it will help a lot of people and eventually have all their available numbers wiped out.
