Someone using this number called my wife's phone. They knew her name and identified themself as an HP rep, so she initially started talking to them. But I was listening in and knew that it sounded like a scam. They suggested that she download a specific file, and she started following their instructions, but I had her end the call. He did have what sounded to me like an Indian accent, although I'm not good with accents, so it could have been some other similar accent.
He asked if I wanted tv or internet service. Explained that my house just burned down in the Thomas fire and that I should be put on their do not call list. He cursed at me "f* you b*tch". I politely explained that if he hadn't heard of the fire, he should look it up and how dare he say that to me.
An indian male asked if I was using a "windows based operating system" to which I replied yes. He then proceeded to tell me that my device had been downloading several files from the internet while I was not using it. He obviously was looking to get money from me because after I responded with "great" he hung up the phone in search of a victim.
Heavy spanish accent woman said she was calling about our copier in the office. Me: "no I don't think you are" *hang up.
My mom got a call from this number and said the lady on the other end was calling about losing weight. Ironically, these calls started coming in after I put her number on the do not call list.
This number belongs to the call center serving for companies with different products and it is used to reach potential customers, introduce new products and sell additional offers.
Lady with accent called. Asked to speak to someone that had number before I did. Don't answer. Likely overseas scam from India.
Mine was yet another hang up when the machine picked up - but an obvious scam from all of the comments I've read. Keep reporting and thanks!
Why waste your time? I don't answer any calls that I don't recognize. I google the number then I block it. Almost all phones can block a number. The funniest every was "Officer Robert O'Malley" from the office of the Internal Revenue Service collection agency. Guy had an Indian accent and was trying to do Irish. Hillarious!!!
